EA doesn't seem to be keen on anti-cheat
The new season has not kept cheaters out; they are present in every game and are increasing in number as time goes by. From last season till now, not only familiar faces are still active in the game...

It does appear to me to be this way, otherwise we would see ban waves I don't see happening right now.

It's so true and obvious, but what I can't figure out is why. Youtubers are basically mocking them.
There is no anticheat. There wasn't one in BFV and there isn't one now
