Maybe it's the incredible amount of lag the game has at the moment but movement feels the clunkiest in the entire series. Feels like running through custard a lot of the time. It's not a feeling of being slow, it feels like the game is constantly trying to drag me in the opposite direction.
Definitely too much dead space in the maps. Just entire areas of flat open ground, especially from main spawns to first flag and even when you are in busy areas, there's often very little cover. It feels like the maps were designed to feel like real places instead of being designed in a way that would facilitate good gameplay.
I really enjoy the specialists though. I haven't noticed any detriment to gameplay from allowing players to choose what gun and gadget they use. If anything I've seen a lot more teamwork than I've come to expect from Battlefield games. Though I admit that could just be due to the odds with having so many players in any given area. I've only played 4 hours and I've already experienced some really good moments of genuine teamplay.

Biggest thing I notice about specialists is the ability to customize your entire loadout really hurts ground vehicles.
Tanks are in a bad spot - they can't aim up (hardly at all) and virtually everyone carries either C4 or a launcher. If you roll up on any infantry, you're dead. If you sit back, you're a prime target from the air with nothing you can do about it.
Never spent much time in the air but noticed the same thing in the beta (and now every time I spawn in one) where everyone seemed to be running anti air. To date, I've only seen one guy good enough to deal with it for a long period of time - and that's cause he was hiding behind terrain where troops can't go, popping up firing a few shots, and then dropping back behind it as soon as everyone locked on.
I don't care about being able to pick your own weapons and gear - but IMO anti-vehicle needs to be restricted somehow. There doesn't seem to be anything else worth equipping. Maybe that says more about the usefulness of the other options...but...
- 4 years ago@SaltEngineering Yeah you can restrict anti vehicle by making some sort of system... a system of classes. Lock anti vehicle to one of them and fill the rest out by locking specific weapons and gadgets to them. If only... a class system.

The sound is really bad, much worse than any other title (even worse than BF4).
And we have a lot of issues from BFV, with bad visibility (people camping in bushes etc), instakills etc.
Some of the vehicles are OP, often they are totally silent and kill you without any warning. We have a lot of tank-camping like BFV (map design is a big offender).
For me the biggest 'bummer' is that the maps all feels like Golmud Railway / Silk Road in BF4 and that makes infantry gameplay boring. The maps are too large, and infantry are often 'sitting ducks' to vehicles, snipers (/campers) due to lack of cover on large portions of the maps.

Running!
And I mean lots of effing running.
Not sure why we have to have 128 player maps. Why don't you let us choose. I don't get a choice of how or where I spawn in. I seldom get a chance for a vehicle as I am flown in most of the time and all the vehicles are gone. I then start off on my ten minute run to try and cap a flag. I find all the flags have already been capped by the time I get there. I earn zero points at this time. So I head off to the next point and that one gets taken too by the folks who were able to get the 4 vehicles for 64 people. Now another 5 minutes of running for nothing has passed. So I head to the closest contested flag. Yes more running! I finally arrive at some action and die immediately from a tank. I now have no capped flags or kills or revives or points. All this for 15 minutes of running. Now that is fun!
Now I ask you EA if this is something that will keep players around and joining your overburdened servers? I know the answer. I believe you will find out as well.
I have another gripe that has been bothering me. So I can go out and spend a modicum amount on a Play Station or spend multiple thousands of dollars on a video card Memory, HDD and still have the same results as some 12 year old kid who his parents purchased him the Play Station.
It used to matter for a person who saved, researched and built their own rig. Now it matters not.
