@ragnarok013 the spotting situation is truly bizarre indeed!
We have so many ways to 3D spotting gadget wise but can't manually do as infantry!
As the above poster says, the SOFLAM shouldn't spot infantry for example.
@Trokey66 I recall being able to spot infantry with the soflam in BF3/4 via Q (but not automatically like with the MAV so it makes sense that we could unless the poster is speaking of locking onto infantry which would be a bizarre mechanic.

locking onto infantryIt would be so awesome to be able to paint snipers with the SOFLAM. I'd never do anything else.
The SOFLAM auto-3D-spots everything. No Q required.

@filthy_vegansI'm sure SOFLAMs of old could lock on to equipment, it certainly could in BF3.

@filthy_vegans that's exactly why I'm a fan of the mortar - it's a counterbalance to snipers and if it's the BF3 style mortar you can be counter mortared by the other team which prevents spamming. We have a sniper infestation in 2042 due to the long map site lines, verticality, and no weapon restrictions.
