As a rule then I dont think that we are allowed to discuss EA's specific named competitors and their products here in this forum, for very obvious reasons...

So suggest we just focus on the product lunch plan that EA has laid out and follow for our next great adventure in this franchise with BF 2042! 🙂

Personally I actually think that EA has indeed moved into having a much earlier interaction with end-customers with the BF2042 versus previous versions.  And please also note that we have many more touchpoints or should we say milestones along the way to the final launch day.  So no matter what some competitors may be doing in this space, I feel and observe that EA have made a substantial improvement in this area and interacting to a much higher degree with their player base and at more stages along the product development cycle with BF2042 versus what we ever experienced previously!     

(I am disregarding what naming convention one game producer may call the various milestones versus what another may call it.  Aka 'Limited Alpha' may be what others may refer to as an 'Early Beta' etc.  You should instead look at all the stages/milestones from early R&D, to all the testing milestones, to the final stage beta on large scale, to final product launch, etc)

EA has given us (yes granted, so far a limited audience, but that is how it needs to be) much much earlier access/participation to provide feedback and also for the EA/DICE tech team to develop and fix stuff for BF2042 versus any previous game in the BF franchise!

And we just had first large scale stress testing on clients and servers here this last week/weekend, with a few thousands players onboard from across the world !  So much ahead of what has been done in previous versions.  And also ahead of time what competitors did.  And still a large chunk of those chosen lucky ones still jumped straight to starting to complain about all nit gritty details about their 'experience' on weapon mechanics, HUD display components, sound scheme, etc etc despite that was explicitly not the purpose of the testing they were invited to.  Can you imagine the total chaos if making it to an 'open beta' instead, with even more lost souls?  🙂

Regarding the NDA, there is nothing wrong with NDAs, that is just normal business.  The limited beta is next and then the open beta.  All in advanced time of the final planned launch date.  I see not they are missing out on anything with this plan.

Its like the world has gone crazy here with entitled players, where everybody now wants to have their Christmas presents in October or what???  🙂 

@CyberDymei have waited years for games to release, they could delay this another 5 years i could not care less, more than enough games to play. No this is not about wanting presents or free stuff or whatever. And with that entitlement comment, you already disqualified yourself from a constructive talk. This conversation is over.

On that aspect I completely agreed with you!

Everybody are longing to see long good video feeds of real first person gameplay from BF2042!  And here its quite irritating the way all is run behind closed doors for the most part of all players.  And what leaks out, is coming from testers gone rogue, that all just displays poor choreographed gameplay and often in miserable resolution and poor gaming in any case.  So as result, not showing the game in a much positive way.  Actually more the opposite...

EA could have done that job much better by giving more full length gameplays in select feeds to their fanbase!

- and here comes the itch...  Like it or not...

This horrible lengthy prolonged pain for all of us to get to see and experience what this next game is really like, is actually (and unfortunately) what creates the most  buzz, the most hype, the most clicks, the most discussions on social media forums (just look at you and me here now 🙂)  So it is unfortunately part of a well planned and executed marketing strategy for many product/game launches these modern days...

So no matter if we like it or not, hope this helps explain a bit the 'commercially driven misery' that we are in.  🙂

@NevtoxThere’s a beta in September they’ve said. I think preorders get access to it early, but otherwise it’s an open beta. And the technical test of course. Plus their own internal QA teams.

But as far as your original post, what specifically makes you think they need to move the beta test up? For those of us that didn’t participate in that beta. Considering it’s a very different game on a different engine, were there things in that beta that concerns you about this one?
