@SeriousJuJu I have mixed feelings about this. Realistically anything over 60 is too much for larger player counts, I think at least. I'm not entirely convinced that a tick rate of 45 is the problem. It becomes way too much to process with very high tick rates. There was a definite trade off going to 128 players on the field though. Is the trade off worth it? It's a different experience and you can't have it all. Very precise hit reg or All out Warfare, but probably not both. Believe me, I'm not thrilled about getting killed around corners and watching my bullets hit someone just for them to be 100 health and insta kill me. There's something off for sure.
In an arena shooter or a total player count under 12 players, I can see games using higher 128 tick rates like CSGO, Valorant, and other esport type games. For something like BF I don't think it's needed. Game design plays a big role. BF has vehicles, bigger maps, and the gun fights tend to be more mid range.
I want it all too, but unfortunately I don't think it's possible. Maybe the answer is 60hz tick rate with 64 players? Was that more fun than 128 players? Map size and design play a big part if it feels empty or not. I'm on the fence myself.
