EBAA Wildcat useless at it's state

Against helicopters:

- AA rockets range is very short

- AA won't lock again after flares for a long time

- Nightbird can easily avoid locked on rockets for some reason

- If two rockets are shot, only first one hits

- 40mm cannon is powerless against attack choppers, just scratching those

Against jets

- Well it's a joke against jets, no threat to them

Wildcat armor is weak even against Bolte, so what is the purpose of that vehicle?

  • I agree. The AA cannons are very weak against everything and the AA missiles could use a buff, or at least the locking mechanism. The bigger cannons are really better against ground targets. Needs armor and it's very slow and clumsy to drive.

  • - AA missiles have a range between 400 to 450m

    - After popping flares, there´s a short cooldown before yo´re able to lock again

    - Missiles usually hit something like a building or such

    - When using flares, missiles behave strange

    - The 40mm is designed for anti-infantry and light vehicles, not against aircrafts. Use the 30mm instead.

Here are the ranges for AA missiles as tested by myself:

    AA Radar Missile range ~700m
    Heli IR missile range 350m
    Jet IR Missile range ~420m
    FXM33 (AKA Stinger) 400m
    AA Anti-Aircraft Missile CRT Mk5 350m

There is currently a bug that allows helicopters (especially but not exclusively the Nightbird) to dodge vehicle fired AA missiles without flaring

To @Kompura The Wildcat has quite strong 30mm AA cannons as well as AA missiles but the problem as mentioned above is that they and other vehicle missiles are bugged against helicopters. Once that is fixed you should see much better performance.

Also should point out that the Flak weapon for the Wildcat is very powerful vs aircraft and does not require direct hits in order to inflict damage.

Most of the time I get killed in a Wildcat it's because it gets all weird when I'm trying to back away and turn. It just always seems to go the wrong way. It's the only ground vehicle in any BF that I've ever had problems controlling well.

  • While I don't agree that the Wildcat is useless...I do agree that it's anti-aircraft capabilities need a serious buff (this is coming from someone who loves to fly as well). When I am in the air.... I don't give wild cats a second thought...unless you are extremely careless....they are easy to avoid and out range.

The AA missiles and their almost nonexistent lock on range.....and the AA cannon both need a buff against aircraft.

Now, on the ground it is another story. My wildcat is outfitted to be a tank/vehicle killer. Anti-tank missiles and the 57mm (unnecessarily nerfed in the last patch)make me hunt down tanks.... if I get the first shot they don't have a chance unless they retreat or find cover.
