It's not just the Asian region that's affected.
I am on the US West Coast and it's been having player retention issues for a while now.
I have to wait several minutes on the "Waiting for more players to join" screen just to end up in a match with mostly bots and a handful of players. I am talking about the two, main game modes. Portal's already dead at this point in my region. This thing's going to be completely dead very soon due to the fact that it has an awful matchmaking/lobby system instead of a proper server browser.

Well when i look at BF2042 numbers just from Steamcharts i can see that BF2042 is as if not more popular than BFV in peak time hours for EST at least here between 18:00 and 00:00 There is more BF2042 players than BFV players .. thats said i find game in about 10 seconds full servers ..
But there is still crashing issues where 20+ players crashes at the same time and are replaced by bots mid match and then re replaced by real players whithin 2 to 3 minutes

I don't need to see the drastically declining Steam player numbers to realize that this game has serious player retention issues. I have had the game since release. It's getting worse with each passing week.
Crashes? In this gem? Get out of here! Just another reason why this game continues to lose players. Because it's an unstable, technical piece of crap on top of being severely flawed when it comes to its overall execution. The game is dying and they are doing nothing.

It is certainly a main contributor and BF2042 will never attract players while the current MM remains.
I've had this too, but I thought the whole idea of AI soldiers was to prevent there ever being an empty game? So why aren't they being loaded in?
I've tried to play lately but given up. I've got better things to do than stare at a waiting screen.
- @ABC-Warrior-real I agree. I don’t care if I play with majority bots. I know some will argue it’s easy way to get progressions with guns and stuff but there just skins I personally don’t care about skins. They don’t help kill better or make you a better player. So just let us play.

Well got a message Dice/EA know of the MM issues.
But with having access through account with DLC but not able to play is seen as a player's issue not a EA/DICE issue.
They have zero interest in solving the issue the digital footprint is enough to cover their backs.
Which = no refund.

I’m probably one of those players. I’m getting CTD’s and hard crashes up to 5 times an hour.
