Regarding supply drops - only Angel can do that and as medic (support class) I think most play as Maria Falck. Ammo box vs pouches - ammo box will give you one new rocket/stinger for each wait time - whereas the supply drop will give you all instantly.
For my part I play Assault and engineer a lot - not often support and seldom sniper. When sniper I use Rao to hack choppers and use soflam to get the lock to help but in this game flares counter everything and that part is wrong !
Perhaps you should try to play other class like assault - Mckay with explosives and the hook to fast get near tank is fun if you succeed - smoke, hook and then 3 c4 on tank and boom !

@Col_LarsenYou’re breezing right over the fact that Engineers in previous titles are infinitely more effective at their Anti vehicle/anti aircraft roles than anything in 2042. Hell even supports in other BF games are more effective at anti vehicle and they can resupply themselves. And those games are unquestionably superior to 2042.
At the very least we need to see the buildable ammo resupply stations in 2042 like we see in BFV. And please don’t insult our intelligence with “but people will hump ammo crates”. The crates are destructible from afar and there are cool downs for resupplying. It’s no different than infinite ammo on an attack chopper or tanks via cooldowns.
In the meantime I’ll just continuously fire my AA rockets or AT then instantly respawn because I know 99% of the time I’m not getting any ammo.

Have you tried turning on your microphone and befriend other players and play together? This game is 1000% better playing with friends.
It is also meant to be a combined arms experience instead of running around solo. I don’t play this game solo anymore too much.- 2 years ago
@JOGAGATYAPlaying any multiplayer game with others in a group makes any experience better. That’s not a legitimate answer to how weak 2042 Engineers are compared to Engineers and even Supports in other BF games vs vehicles.
I’ve been playing Battlefield for about 2 decades. Telling me it’s a combined arms exercise is a no brainer and still doesn’t change the fact by that compared to previous BF games, 2042 Engineers are weak vs vehicles and as a result are JUST NOT FUN OR SATISFYING TO PLAY.At a minimum we need the BFV type buildable ammo stations at every friendly objective. That would at least help with our short supply of rockets. It would encourage PTFO for access to ammo resupply and would deter players from having to instantly respawn for ammo every time we run dry in order to partake in our class mechanic, anti vehicle.
And before you get started on resupply via team
mates, I rarely, if ever, see Angel’s large supply crate being called in. Maybe once every 3rd day of game play. And for whatever reason medics hardly ever drop ammo. DICE determined ammo stations were a legit concept in BFV so why was that concept abandoned? Like so many other great concepts from the franchise that were abandoned for no comprehensible reason.
- Col_Larsen2 years agoNew Ace@Zhukov211 That is the good question - what is role of engineer - how powerfull should he be ? In this game no single engineer can take on a tank alone and win. In BF5 he was perhaps way too overpowered - 3 panzerfausts, dynamite and tank bundle nade. One guy could take out a Tiger tank alone - no team play needed here. Think Dice wanted to make sure that to take out tank you need cooperation. Now choppers in this game is wrong - and proof of that is the massive kill streaks they have all the time - stealth and littlebird being the worst. The way littlebird is able to fly is so unrealistic - flares are dead wrong - mini gun that never heats up. ground radar / thermal sights.... no doubt Dice loves choppers very very much !. Currently I'm playing Lis and trying to learn how to fly those damn missiles into choppers. With me I also have c4 and smoke nades. That combo often let me take out tanks alone - smoke nades around tank - run in and 3 c4's and he is dead !
But def. agree - compared to other BF titles the engineer is not on same level. For a team to win you need all - Rao to hack choppers and stealth + soflam to spot. Medics to revive etc - you cannot win this game single handed as in previous titles !
Stationary AA guns / missile systems would be nice + TOW missiles.
