Engineers in a good place right now?

- severe lack of ammo(crates) to resupply rockets.
- Lack of rockets when you spawn.
- Boris is not worth it.
- M5 not doing enough damage, FXM risk/reward or hitrate is atrocious (even before the bugged state) and does barely have an impact due to vehicle-repair options+regen. Especially a problem on 64p playermodes and maps.
- General lack of effective and fun to use tools to deal with vehicles.
- Any synergy between recon (soflam, dart) and engineer is not rewarding nor really effective in BF2042. I blame the frequence of the ample countermeasures.

BF4 did alot things right with the engineer class and the gadgets engineers could choose from, you could learn from that. (there's no SRAW-like launcher for example in BF2042)

Also, you could read the 6 pages of this thread to look for (other) keypoints.

1. Add more Anti-tank weaponry, especially none-guided, freefire ones (SMAW, RPG, even NLAW).

2.Bring back Strela or HVM type of AA launcher (keeping locked on after fire to hit).

3. Make ammo count for launchers as big as in BF4.

4. Boris IS the weakest engineer - most of the time used ONLY by low level players, because they did not unlock Crawford or Lis. Trait is pointless, sentry gun should not being brought ever in to BF game. Swap it with deployable TOW/Kornet launcher (high dps, wire-guided missile) or AA mine from BF4. OR a volley-firing Hydra type rocket launcher (a "modern" lufthaust but stationary). Trait - flak jacket that reduces explosive/splash damage.

5. Rao (even tho a recon spec.) users should be getting xp for hacking and hit/kill/destroy assists on hacked vehicles.

@EA_LeeuwCrawford and Boris turrets just aren't very good against vehicles. The damage against infantry is fine as is, against vehicles maybe that should increase or just rethink their gadgets all together. Personally, a change of Boris gadget entirely would be for the best. Nobody really likes automated stuff.

I think the other anti vehicle weapons need to feel impactful. You implemented the class system which is great but now there are less people using anti vehicle weapons (except C5 because 3 classes can carry them which I don't understand, assault and recon shouldn't get these). The damage needs a buff. Or you should be able to carry more rockets and buff reload speed. Then the helis need either limited flares or super long cool downs for them. Maybe even limit the health Regen a bit more for all vehicles. Honestly hate auto health Regen for vehicles and it should be only Regen due to engineers repairs or going back to home base sorta like previous bf games have done.

Honestly, the only Engineer specialist that reasonably good is Liz because of the fact that her TGM missiles are more likely to hit something than the other missiles. The max range of her missiles is really  bad after the patch though.

Crawford's turret is a suicide gadget because every sniper can hit him through that pointless hole in the middle. Now that his repair rate got nerfed, perhaps he needs to become better in more ways than repairing.

Boris is the specialist who is a non specialist. The turret is a joke that can serve more like a distraction than a deadly threat to enemy forces.

Either this turret needs to contribute better vs enemy vehicles or he needs a complete overhaul. Some have suggested the AA mine gadget from  BF4.

Both Boris and Crawford, do not carry enough rockets/mines.

maybe make the turret a 30mm and make the turret not fire at infantry only spot them.  leave everything else about the turret alone (just rework mastery to match the reworked gadget)

There are two options for Boris's turret, one is SG-36 Sentry Gun and the other is AA turret.

Lis can be one of the most successful specialists, but wish she could switch to another ammo option HE missile (can be manually detonated directly), the damage to heavy vehicles is not high, but it can cause damage to vehicle parts.

Crawford - His Specialist ability should be reworked, Mounted Vulcan doesn't work very well.

To what exactly are you referring?

Ok some more feedback. 

1. The recoilless is a good weapon to shoot down helicopters, but not very useful against tanks. Against tanks, the risk is high and even if you hit all rockets, the tank will still have a good amount of health. It makes 0 sense to engage a tank on your own, so most of the time, nobody will engage at all 

2. FXA is just good deny some area for air for a very short time. You will nearly never kill someone with it. The problem is, that after three rockets, you are empty and can't deny anything anymore. The slot is not worth it, for this small benefit.

3. Boris turret is too weak. The lock on time is too long against infantry, the bullets are too slow for air vehicle, the damage against vehicles is too low. The passive trait forces you to stay at your gun, the area for that is very small and as it makes noise so everybody knows where the gun is, everybody will also see you if you try to use your passive. And even with the passive, the turret can't kill anybody. Risk to reward is unsatisfying. 

Auto turrets are good for new players to get some support, that is why he is still so popular. But he is just too weak.

4. Crawford, you are one big sniper target or the vehicles will kill you before you are able to get some noticeable damage out. Passive is ok, not overwhelming, but "ok". Would not pick him in any situation.

5. Lis is somewhat ok, her rocket doesn't make much damage against tanks and is not too agile against air. I think she is in a good spot (even if I think it is still too strong against ground vehicles, because there is no real counter for them). But as the other options were so weak (the rocket launcher + specialists) she was the only viable option to fight vehicles. Now with the nerf, many players don't have an useful counter against vehicle (especially air).

6. I understand the philosophy of the specialists and classes, that you have to play together, to be successful. For example, if you have enough ammo crates from your team, you would have enough FXA to deny the air for longer time. The problem is, it should not be balanced to how it "should" be played, it should be balanced, how it is played. And at the moment, not enough ammo crates are present, not enough people pick engineer and so on. If the teamplay is lacking, either reduce the amount how much is necessary to ve successful, or implement more mechanics, what will make it more worth it. 

For example, I played Rao before the class system to counter vehicles, I would not touch him anymore, because his traits are very reliant on teamplay. Same for the SOFLAM. I will not use them, because I don't feel, that they are somewhat helping anybody. (Because lack of teamplay). I am a supporter of teamplay at battlefield but if there is such a disconnect between the philosophy and the reality, something has to change.

Worked for the pilots.  Why do pilots get to gaslight and infantry cannot?  Gaslighting is what got Lis nerfed.  Pilots lied worse then a Chicago Politician.  Other saw how it worked for you.

I play the game as a tank main and as a Boris engineer when I'm not in a tank and I know what I'm seeing play out in the game and it's not what is being misrepresented in this thread.

You are somewhat right. But both sides can be right. On the one side, for example I say, Borris Turret is too weak. On the other hand, you are afraid, to see too much auto turrets. 

And you are correct. Nobody asked for an auto turret. But at the moment, you could also patch Boris out of the game.
