@Ironhead841 Majority of players, or just the ones that shout the loudest? I remember previous games undergoing severe changes because the 'majority' wanted something and yelled about it.
If you go back and read, you'll see I said legacy content, bar weapons, should be restricted to Portal. That was Portal's purpose.
I also didn't say I was against a server browser, so maybe cool your jets on that one, bub, and read again. I said combining hypothetical legacy maps such as Metro with server control would result in a million Metro servers, as we saw in previous titles, because players aren't there to actually play a Battlefield game as it should be, they want to play point farming servers, which is why teamwork across the series in years since it started trying to siphon off COD players became worse and worse.
Maybe I think its selfish for a vocal bunch to always get what they want, while those who want something new and different get shafted?
I doubt VERY much that EA/Dice ae making these decisions arbitrarily without some sort of data indicating it's what a majority of their player base wants, not just a handful of the ones shouting the loudest.
Hell, if simply shouting loudly actually worked, we would have had a server browser with persistent servers, squad management, Clan/Platoon support etc. etc. well over a year ago.
Even the hotly debated class update, which I'm still not convinced is a good idea at this late stage of the game just to be clear, probably has a lot off data behind it.
- ATFGunr3 years agoLegend@Ironhead841 Lol I gotta disagree with you that EA / Dice don’t make decisions arbitrarily lol, the whole game was made as an arbitrary decision. Nobody asked for the changes we got on 2042 🤣🤣 I agree with you and PSU about choices, sorry Moab you’re off base with this one, but I admire you sticking to your opinion regardless of the majority opinion. I don’t play exodus either but I don’t think I should force others to follow what I want.

@Ironhead841 Right. Like they didn't mess up the weapons in previous games because people whined about them. Now they're going to add classes because people whined about it, even though classes aren't the solution to teamwork. People whined about 'clone' characters when the game has more variation in characters than previous titles bar BFV, and people whined about the customisation in that as well. Hell, people whined about BFV in general and then suddenly thought it was brilliant when 2042 dropped. Or whining about rough launches whilst forgetting BF4 had a terrible launch. People whine about flashy cosmetics and then in the next instance run around with a gold plated gun. People whined about the BR modes, then whined when the modes got dropped. Too many players listen religiously to Youtubers and Streamers who haphazardly play the game and complain about things they don't like, or they want, but then they don't even bother with them if the changes are made, because they influence the people watching them to want the same things. People whined about the Christmas mode they did and then whined when there wasn't a Christmas mode this time.
We're stuck with Exodus because people whined about maps and content, and then only end up playing a rotation of mostly old maps instead of any of the new content.

@Moab23 wrote:@ATFGunr Glad to see you're all perfectly fine with everyone being forced to play Exodus then. There is no 'choice' here if other modes aren't getting players into them because they're going to Exodus, and that is the point.
The 'Choice' is there, other players 'Chose' to play the other mode because they think it is better/more fun. You're welcome to spin up your own Portal server and run it how you like, or sit in queue waiting for other players.
The different modes cycle in and out every week, sometimes it's Exodus Conquest, some times Exodus Breakthrough, other times all infantry mode. Just because some/many prefer the layout of the other maps and how they play (probably from being super tired of the base 2042 maps) doesn't mean their choice is wrong. You 'Chose' to turn off crossplay, thus 'Choosing' to vastly limit who you play against, and now you are seeing the results of those actions.
I find that my K/D ends up being fairly equal against console and PC, for what it's worth. Granted I think there's more console players than PC players depending on time/region, so who knows.

i can go along with the classes argument. that is a stupid decision on their part and will drive players away. i like the current system, or at the very least let people still play with the current system if they want to in servers set up for that
