With that said, I agree that it would be beneficial to just have the two miniguns, but I can't honestly imagine if the gun stays in the game, it being much less effective. It hardly did any damage to vehicles either.

It's probably more accurate to call them gunships rather than transports.
I love the idea of a gunship since they combine a couple of things that make Battlefield great: teamwork + vehicles. We've seen them a few times in the past Battlefield games:
AC-130 player piloted (Desert Combat)
AC-130 AI piloted (BF4)
Zeppelin (BF1)
I don't recall any of those being particularly problematic so I think gunships can be made to work. The biggest difference between those past gunships and the 2042 versions is the manuverability plus smaller hitbox.
I'd hope that DICE can take a look at those past examples to try and figure out what works and what doesn't work for gunship design.

If you honestly think the AC-130 in BF4 was NOT a problem, then you have a VERY bad memory. For BF1, the Zeppelin was not as bad after infantry weapons were made more effective against it, but it was still a bad idea to have anything like that in the game (but for other reasons I don't want to go into as this has nothing to do with 50mm cannons on the Condor or Hind).

Perhaps my memory is off. It's been at least six years and the BF4 AC-130 only had a limited appearance on a few maps.
It may also be due to different experiences with PC vs Console. I played both platforms on BF4, but mostly console. The added challenge of stick aiming probably made the AC-130 less effective on console.
Even in 2042 where I play on last gen I haven't found the transports to be too much of a problem. Maybe 1 in 10 matches have a good transport crew. Even those good crews only manage 20-30 kills in a round. I don't believe I've ever seen a transport crew get over 35kills in a match. I understand PC is a different story which I suspect may be due to KBM aiming.

@Zhukov211I just played a few rounds this evening and was using the 50mm in a condor for about 10 minutes. It is massively less powerful than it was before. It would take 3-4 hits to take down a target, compared to the 1-2 it was before. Between that and the significantly slower shooting it is a pretty large nerf.

MV38-Condor and Mi-240 Super Hind - 50mm Cannon Pod
- Now fires single shots
- Rate of Fire reduced from 110 -> 40
- Longer replenish delay to fit the new slower rate of fire
I got 1 shoot by the condor after the patch so I still think it's OP.
I've said it months ago, the transport aircrafts should not have anything than minigun pods on them. Fire suppression so they can cover the infantry nothing more nothing less.
You can't drop players to a point because of a wildcat / heli harassing you? Well tough luck, call for support, this is what BF means not give the transport the capability of a tank so it can be an all in 1 vehicle and have the audacity to call it a "transport" DICE.

@OzzLinkWere you low HP? Was it a direct hit? A direct hit is always a 1 shot kill. As it should be imo, it's not easy to land a direct hit unless the vehicle is stable.

Full HP. One example would be: just spawend on the point and *BOOM* insta death. The transports should not be able to do this, it is stupid and not balanced, and it shows the lack of understanding of how the game works from the dev team.
