Full HP. One example would be: just spawend on the point and *BOOM* insta death. The transports should not be able to do this, it is stupid and not balanced, and it shows the lack of understanding of how the game works from the dev team.
But I can see, if it basically amounted to be a direct-hit/headshot that a 50mm would be a kill.
Either way, I wasn't able to easily communicate with the pilot to test out the damage modeling, but it sure felt like everything took more shots than it did before, whether the patch notes mark it as such or not.

The problem comes up when the defenders don't have an aircraft when the attackers do. That alone is unbalanced.

This. The only effective counter to air, is air. Ground simply is not a great counter to air without serious teamwork pairing Rao hacks + AA vehicle + stingers/Lis simultaneously.
The only time air feels "balanced" is when both teams have good pilots that can pressure each other while keeping a presence on the battlefield. If your team doesn't have good pilots or doesn't have access to aircraft? Well you're probably boned, especially if the other team has a single competent pilot who will just farm ground forces all day long.
Lis is a big help even if you have bad players, since the missiles can still at least put a bit of pressure on aircraft, but really the whole "metagame" continues to be busted and seems to need to be torn down and rebuilt from the ground up so that aircraft actually fit in with the rest of the design of 2042.
- Adamonic4 years agoLegend@edgecrusherO0 well said. It is supposed to be rock/paper/scissors, but if one team doesn't have rocks, then the scissors feel OP to the paper.
Even if defenders got one attack helo, that would be better than zero as in most cases.
On another note, they need to buff the Wildcat against aircraft slightly. A faster lock on and longer range would help.

Indeed
Asymmetric gameplay takes incredible effort to balance. Most games do not get it right.

@OzzLinkI have yet to, after the patch, one-shot anyone with the 50mm in the condor/hind. Maybe something exploded around you/equipment/etc at the same time? Maybe the damage drop off is larger for splash damage now, but I definitely felt that I wasn't taking nearly as much damage when one was swinging around hitting me when I was on-foot.

Generally speaking, prior to patch 1.1 without a direct hit, it would take 2 shots that could be fired in rapid succession. With patch 1.1 it now takes 3 shots to kill infantry without a direct hit and there's a significant delay between shots. So it's not nearly as oppressive as it was.
