Just out of * and giggles I downloaded BF5 today and launched it. All settings maxed, Ray tracing set to "murder your GPU" and I'm easily pulling 110+ FPS on a full server on Devastation in the most chaotic battles. If I got without ray tracing, FPS just sky rocket to 160+
In 2042 I'm constatly dipping to 60 and even 50FPS without Ray Tracing, With RTX it goes to 40. So I don't know what is this game's problem.
FPS varies quite a bit. On Breakaway I'm averaging about 80-90fps and on Manifest I'm in the low 50's, which dips to the 30's. My 8700K is OC'd to 4.8GHz and ram is stock because enabling XMP causes WHEA. I'm on the cusp of upgrading to an 12900K which sounds absurd, but I guess it's long overdue :/
FoV: 59
Auto settings (which is ULTRA)
Lens effects OFF
Ambient occlusion OFF
Reflex OFF
DLSS QUALITY
Future frame OFF
Ray-Tracing OFF (for obvious reasons). I've never seen a game implement RTX so poorly.
@SLSAMGGI bet you ram is holding you back. what speed and cas latency? Hardware Unboxed mentioned this importance in the latest vid.
also I just edited my post. I actually have that bottom setting which is high fidelity objects to low. I forgot I had changed that. I couldn't find any difference in image quality.

Just a small point for clarity, the recommended Core i7-4790 is 4c/8t rather than 4c/4t.

The CPU must calculate the data from which your GPU then creates an image. If the CPU is overloaded, as in your case, it does not compute enough data to keep the GPU busy.

Yes for some reason I was thinking 4690K (that's what sleep deprivation does). Nevertheless, you're grasping at straws because in the end, it really doesn't change anything now does it? It's blatant false advertising on many levels. Enjoy the impending lawsuits.

At best my fps lows increased by about 5, which in the grand scheme of things means absolutely nothing when my GPU isn't being fully utilized.
Notice in the graph attached there aren't any 4th gen CPU's listed. How do you think it would fair in comparison? I think it would be in EA's best interest to revise their recommended CPU specs.
