Feedback for 2042 after 15 hours of playing. - No negativity.

Hello Dice developers. If any Dice developer reads this props to you and whoever reads this from the team at DICE!

I want to simply write this to provide feedback on how you can save Battlefield 2042. Remember how infamous BF4 launch was ? I don't want to see this game suffer the same fate. I'm not going to discuss the bugs and optimization because everybody is well aware of the mess. I want to mainly go over game play aspect

This is opinion back with 15 hours of game-play

Let me go over the pros -

+ Ok if this Battlefield title has a great standout it would be the team (I think) was SEED who developed the AI for Star Wars Battlefront 2. I greatly appreciate the development of AI for 2042 ! Although some people reported the AI being buggy I didn't notice any issues, however I can't give a full opinion about it because I haven't been able to run the game with the severe crashes I have been having. I am simply saying thank you so much for at least implementing this feature ! It was needed so much because we haven't since AI bots since Battlefield 2.

+ Dropping the single player campaign. I am totally fine with this because most of any Battlefield game I've been playing (since Battlefield 2) I play the campaign once and never touched it again. Battlefield 4 a prime example - 95% percent of all my hours were into the multiplayer 5% test range less than 1% of the campaign. I personally think Battlefield was fundamentally meant to be a multiplayer game because 1942 and 2 didn't have a campaign. Well it did but it just mainly used the assets from multiplayer maps and AI. It's kind of funny because Star Wars Battlefront classics used the same templates like 1942, 2 and even 2142.

+ Weather effects are actually a nice touch and add something new to make the Battlefield more dynamic.

+ Portal Mode - Getting pass the features and bugs. Portal mode was absolute fun as you can experience the legacy of past Battlefield games and create wonky new party games. To improve upon it make an offline mode as well for those single player gamers. This will also reduce the amount of farming XP from abusers.

---------------

Alright hopefully you can take this as feedback

One of the most important core features -

- Classes that have been replaced with specialists. I'm fairly certain nobody asked for the specialists to be in the game as it breaks the balance. Not to mention the specialists are some of the most bland cheesy characters that have stupid tik tok 1 liners at the end of each match that kill and ruin the immersion of the Battlefield world. Take out the specialists in All out warfare replace them with the playable AI soldiers that look more like 2042 soldiers, make both an option in portal mode along with returning to the traditional class system just like any other BF title. Hazard zone should probably be the only mode that should have the specialists.

I would like to also mention I have a good feeling that somewhere down the lines in development this seemed like the original design, and whoever came up with the specialists for hazard zone decided to change the idea to add them playable in all out warfare, which in my opinion it didn't work out.

- The maps are to wide to where you will be sprinting for 3 to 4 minutes before ever running into an engagement. The maps are also to big with open spaces and not enough sufficient cover for infantry. This probably due to the fact that the map design has to accommodate hazard zone. Make a couple few quality maps specifically for hazard zone (COD WARZONE 2019 had only 1 dedicated map which was played frequently) and make specific dedicated maps for all out warfare.

- Movement/Spotting - I hate to say this - If I wasn't a Battlefield player I could have looked at the game and thought accidentally that I was playing a call of duty game. 2042's movement was a straight rip off from the COD series MW2019/ Warzone / Black ops cold war and the callouts function like other battle royale series APEX / WARZONE. Revert the movement system much like it's Battlefield 4 / 1 / V counterpart also revert back the spotting mechanic. Without the spotting mechanic I get killed in many things in the Battlefield without being able to anticipate enemy vehicles and infantry. The BR ping system is such a wonky feature to mark enemies, its also complete step back from the spotting mechanic and should have never got passed development.

- Recoil and bullet deviation / weapon attachments - The bullet spread and recoil is way to harsh and strong. The weapon attachments have very odd and wonky penalties that don't make any sense. I think that BF4 had the best recoil and attachment system where it can be easily understand and learned from. Please revamp the attachment system make it more unique to where benefits and drawbacks have to be considered and make sense / make and re-adjust the recoil and bullet deviation.

Hopefully I put forth some help feedback as I don't want to continue to promote negativity and I don't want this game to suffer the fate of other Triple A failures.

  • @rR00Kk A lot of good points. The movement indeed is ripped right off COD. The whole thing just smacks of trying to strike back at Warzone mostly. Portal could be the future if they keep adding maps very regularly. It's pretty obvious how bad they were going after COD here. As I said I feel like its better than the past few releases, but I have to wait til Friday to get my hands on something other than the beta...so we will see.

Thank you  so much ! Yes I wanted to provide DICE with serious feedback. I am very sure just like Battlefield players such as myself and yourself we wanted this game to be really good and noticed some of the departures that this newest Battlefield title has taken.

"but I have to wait til Friday to get my hands on something other than the beta...so we will see." -  I recommend that you wait and go back and play some of the previous Battlefield titles that are stable such as BF 3/4/I/V because 2042 is not in a good state right now and players are waiting for fixes and patches to take place. I wanted DICE to delay this game so they can iron out all of the flaws but for some reason who ever is making the decision to force this game out in an unplayable state is very unacceptable.
