Product: Battlefield 2042

Platform:PlayStation 5
Please specify your platform model. Sony PlayStation 5
Are you using any software with an overlay? No
Which part of the game is the issue happening in? Multiplayer
Which part of the mode? Conquest
Please select your region Europe
On which server did this happen? All
When did this happen? (dd.mm.yy hh:mm)
Summarize your bug Currently the game is mostly running on Medium/Low settings at a dynamic resolution of 1800-1440P (TAA) on both PS5 and Series X. (During the BETA it was running on HIGH/ULTRA at 1800P on both Series X and PS5). Instead downgrading the game, next-gen console players should have minor graphical options, just like PC players. Especially considering that BF2042 is a crossplay title and allowed PC players play with unlocked frame-rates or higher graphics. Majority of next-gen titles already offer standard, performance and Fidelity pre-sets.
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? Compare the resolution and graphics of the BETA build vs launch in the PlayStation 5 for example and you will notice significant downgrade in sharpness due to resolution drop and graphical output (mostly LOD, terrain, foliage and shadow quality). However, performance in BETA was still a solid 60fps In the PlayStation 5 when compared to downgraded launch. (See provided pictures)
What happens when the bug occurs? The game is downgraded on the PlayStation 5 since launch (when compared to BETA) with positive change in performance. Instead, the game should have minor graphical pre-sets so that the players can choose how to enjoy their game, just like PC players.
What should be happening instead? Offer the following graphical pre-sets for the PlayStation 5 (and other next-gen consoles): a "STANDARD pre-set" that is unchanged from the current settings as it is now, a "PERFORMANCE pre-set" that is the same as STANDARD, but with unlocked frame-rates (for VRR users). And finally a "FIDELITY pre-set" that uses higher graphical output and resolution at a less stable 60fps (45-60), which is also perfect for VRR users.

Here are some proof of downgrades graphics on PS5 (and Series X) since launch. (Performance in Orbital is unchanged from BETA).

Resolution: Launch looks blurrier than BETA due to downgraded internal rendering resolution. BETA was 1800-1912P on the PS5.

Terrain (LOD) and foliage: Launch dropped the Terrain and Mesh quality from High to Medium in the PlayStation 5 (and Series X).

Shadow Quality: Significantly downgraded at launch, from High to Low on PS5 and Series X. Higher quality shadows literally pop-in within a 10 meter distance when compared to BETA.

BETA:

Launch:

Rendering distance launch is set to 10m

for most objects:

Please give us options so that we can play the way we want it instead of being forced to play on default. 80% of next-games offer options as well, especially since we play PC players with crossplay that do have graphical options.

These 3 options would be welcome for next-gen consoles users:

- Standard mode: Just as it is now.

- Performance mode: Same as now, but unlocked fps (for VRR users).

- Fidelity mode: Fixed 1800P using High/Ultra settings at 45-60fps (perfect for VRR users).
