The frostbite engine is a nightmare and EA fails to motivate the guys who know it to keep working at DICE.
At the same time the management puts directives to chase every freaking FPS trend
@UP_HawxxeyeAfter spending 18 months improving it, you'd hope that it's better. But I find it hard to chalk up most of the problems to Frostbite since, again, a lot of the issues facing the game are very basic, fundamental design problems.
I mean, DICE was out there bragging about the improvements pre-launch, I guess maybe they were lying?
True that BF4 had a lot of issues but it had a roadmap ! Thus the core of BF4 was a BF game. They will have to change the whole core of 2042 to
get players interested in investing time. But IMO they will let it die with a few updates and that was the end of something that should never have been released....
One quick fix could be to include a few maps from BF3/4 into AOW - particularly Infantry only maps.
