Hello @CyberDyme and thanks for your reply.
This thread I've started has nothing to do with the WHY to enable it on consoles. So I won't jump into the "mNk iS fOr pC" gibberish you can find on every page of this linked thread. It is just folks saying "YES" and others saying "NO".
Mine is a completely different vantage point on the subject of giving PC gamers, or those considering it, the alternative thought about switching to current gen consoles, because PCs aren't a great price-performance-value those days when it comes to gaming.
I just took BF2042 as prime example, because when seeing this game being able to be played in 4K with this details, while sticking between 45 and 60 FPS on XB SX / PS5 and on the other hand killing most mid-range PC systems, worth of >700 bucks, because they can't pass the low details, 1080p line in the options to have some stable 50-60 FPS.
Regards.
Oh thx @Normandy-Hitchie ,
Got your point now!
Sorry, was somehow mislead by your title of this thread. So your purpose is actually more about making the case for not playing the game on the PC platform anymore, because you claim that the new-gen consoles are optimized for their specific gaming purpose and now starting to perform at par to a much more expensive PC rig?
It may lure some dedicated PC gamers across that may be sitting on the fence? But one of the big wins with having a console in aka your tv room for the family or in your home cinema is among many other benefits to have an uncomplicated way to both navigate menus and play games, watch NetFlix etc all without having all the clutter around with mouse and keyboard.
The console controllers have a standard button functionality across all the media and game applications, so easy and uncomplicated for all members of the family to utilize it. You may of course argue the same is the case for PC style mouse and keyboard, but still its not the same when going from just a few buttons to aka 102.
Regarding avoiding the required flat table space and convenience, nothing beats the wireless controller.
There are many reasons why the consoles are gaining more and more popularity and this is one of them.
And why the consoles comes by default with controllers and not MnK
(MnK would otherwise be cheaper for MSFT and Sony!)

@CyberDymethanks for your feedback. Yeah, this was my intention. I wanted to point out an alternative regarding the price value and that those alternatives should finally be treated as same as computers. I mean, the rare moments when crossplay worked, I was enjoying to play the game with my friends. Even though they were struggling with the performance on PC, while I wasn't on XBox.
But while I agree with your points regarding the default equipment, delivered with consoles and the target audience / theatre that they were made for, there are more and more players, who use them on a desk. Just look at streamers out there. I do not stream and even back in PS4 era I connected my console to my desktop screen. Same thing I am doing now with my Series X. And compared to the PS4, which truly lacked in performance compared to my PC, here I can really feel the power increase. I mean, like I stated in my initial thread, I have problems staying in the 40-50 FPS areas in 1080p, while the Series X and PS5 can easily stick to 50-60 FPS in most scenarios while delivering such a visual fidelity in 4K.
Sure, the the majority still uses them for the TV and living rooms, there is nothing to say against that. And also that many of the games are greatly implemented to be controlled via gamepad. Some are even a nightmare to be controlled by other input devices. But crossing input devices from the support list is just a bad way to go when it comes to UX and accessibility.
And regarding standards and easily accessible buttons: Well, I am on XBox and pressing the Windows button opens its start menu as well. Sure, some hotkeys are still missing, but there is pretty much consistency there. But thanks there is a "REPORT FEEDBACK" segment in this regard as well to get the features 🙂
Idk how about the PS5, but the PS4 lacked in this regard - which you could say about the whole UI in the OS as well.
