Played Flashback Conquest 128 last night and found the following.
- Pacing in matches is no longer balanced between time in combat and time to manoeuvre.
- Too many players have line of sight on you at anyone time due to…..Too many players!
- The respawn mechanic in gameplay that kept the old classic 64 player matches feeling like more players are on a map at any one time is now what I spend most of my time doing due to more deaths in a 128 player match because of the points above.
- The ebb and flow that made these classic maps good is now gone and in its place is chaos.
In my opinion this obsession with 128 player matches comes from pressure to be comparable with battle royal player counts, but this is not needed in a battlefield game as you can respawn as many times as you like within the ticket count, unlike battle royal which needs higher player counts to fill a match with enough moments to keep it interesting.
