@contact634 The issue you describe is not a sniper rifle issue, it is a map issue, since they don't provide cover. You can conceal yourself with smoke, but that is a very weak way to handle with snipers.
Weapon types are balanced using game logic, I does not claim to be in any way realistic. Same type of ammo in a AR, LMG, or Bolt Action Sniper rifle do different amounts of damage, and are somewhat balanced around the rate of fire.
