Currently they are doing neither.
@Kaptyn027 "Live-service games are a way for a company to continue the growth of a game for years after its initial release."
The game was barely out 5 weeks and it got 3 or 4 big updates addressing 100's of issues. So YOU consider that "doing nothing"?
Since we have no official word from EA/Dice on when Season 1 drops, we can only go by leaked info, which says March. They promised 4 Seasons, which would break down to one every 3 months.
- 4 years ago@Chief2GFD Have you not seen the roadmap released for the future of the Battlefield series?
Do you honestly believe that this game will be supported for years to come?

@Kaptyn027 Years? Maybe 2-3 at best. Then a new one will come out more than likely.

Can't live service a dead game

@Chief2GFD Why were there 100s of issues to start? So the service is fixing what should've never been broken. That's like if I sell you a car without an engine and wheels and add those later on.

@UnCazualGamer I have never denied that there are things that need to be fixed or added to the game. Did you play any previous BF titles, ie BF4? This is certainly not the first BF title that needed major work after launch. As for your example of selling me a car with no engine and adding it later...poor example. I wouldn't purchase a car with no engine. People had the Beta, 10 free hrs to try the game out and more to see if they liked the game. And yet LOTS of people knew what they were getting into and still bought the game, THEN want to get on here and complain. Makes total sense!

No but its the first BF that needed this much work, that's been rated this low 2 - 3 / 10, and has this many missing features. It's the extent to which this game needs repair that makes it unique in the franchise.

But you bought a car with seats missing, old worn tires, no A/C, missing rear view mirror, and a cracked shield, that's a good analogy.

Not everyone played the Beta, and being a beta it doesn't tell you how the launch game will be. The game is still essentially a beta as is, terrible state. Steam is giving refunds for the game even if they wouldn't be otherwise eligible, that's how bad it is.

they broke more than they fixed really
- Mikex21124 years agoNew Rookie@Chief2GFD You must be new around here....Without you replying,I know you are.....Heres the problem with your statement,3 or 4 big updates?
If this trash game was released in a polished state like EA/Dice led people to believe, there should be NO need for big updates..Theres no word from EA/Dice because they simply dont care and its nothing new..They have always did this- Chief2GFD4 years agoSeasoned Ace
@Mikex2112 I guess maybe you forgot about the train wreck of an unplayable mess that was the BF4 release? It took what, close to a year before that game was fixed and fun to play? I have never once said that this game doesn't have problems that need to be fixed. And yes, they probably should have delayed it so they could polish it and clean it up. Should they be communicating better? Sure, I guess.
