Future date for Console cross play off

Hi console community! I am going to propose something but shut me off if it’s a bad idea.
I am proposing that in maybe a month we pick a date and all PS5 and new GEN Xbox players would turn off cross play for that date. I think most people would love to play the 128 player Maps without PC players.

If it catches on and works, may be more and more Console players could leave cross play off so we could find matches quickly. Is it doable? Is it worth it? Right now there’s a night and day difference between the PS4 version compared to the PS five version with all the PC players.
Do you guys think it would not make a difference helping the lag/de-sync/ Insta kills by PC players? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Guys all i can say is that crossplay between consoles and PC is a HUGE issue. THE biggest issue the game has now. Any PS5 player, if you can, download and try to play the PS4 version. The evidence is there in the difference. I LOVE love love battlefield, but this the first time in 20 years I don't enjoy playing BF because how bad it is with crossplay on. Even PC players have no idea how good it COULD be.

Actually: can PC olayers find games with crossplay off? Does it feel better?

@kregora Yes they can build a system that works for everyone: crossplay off. It works for last gen consoles perfectly. I know 100% because i tried it. I still play the last gen version on PS5.
  • Gonna need to post this to twitter an reddit an instagram an tick tok an facebook for anybody to see it......forums have the 50 same people....social media is where its at these days apparently

But... the Surgeon General just said that Social Media is Cancer.

  • Good idea for like minded folks like yourself, but 95% of your console gaming community won't see this.

Only a small fraction of the player base even visit forums such as this, especially this official one.

I can understand the frustration of console players like yourself though, and it's unnecessary. There's no need for it, other than to be a guinea pig for the next game.

Personally I enjoy playing with and against console players, even with the issues we currently have. There are plenty of console players who are very good and given the opportunity would leave cross-play on as it currently stands IMO.

But the majority would most likely turn it off and this can't be good for player retention on consoles.

Guinea pigs is the only logical answer, unfortunately.

They have a ways to go with the cross-play net-code. The first thing I look for in any new patch notes is something in relation to this..

    Hopefully I'm surprised soon.

But PS V's XB - There's no rhyme or reason to it currently, other than what I just said.

I can 100% confirm that crossplay off for PC is a better experience. Less lag, less spikes, etc. It will lag when an out of region player joins. For example I usually have a server side latency of 27 (as well as my ping). When other players join, it will go to 35. Still totally playable and fun. Suddenly it will go to 53 or more, and wicked lag sets in. It’s barely playable then. Hit reg is decent throughout, which it is not in crossplay. I need to point out that the crossplay off in PC only works in official portal experiences which will populate with bots until real players join. I can’t get an AOW round to start with the current pop. In a 32 player round in portal, I have not seen more than a dozen real players. The low pop and local region nature of the players is a contributing factor at minimum for the improvement. A true test would be a full breakthrough round with 128 PC players, which at this point is a unicorn. I’ll never see it.

  • I think the players who find crossplay to be a dealbreaker already found a solution - last gen.  Server tickrate is awful on last gen (20Hz vs 45Hz), but I'd wager 98% of the console playerbase is unaware of the tickrate difference and likely wasn't considered in their decision to play last gen.

I'll hop on last gen myself anytime they get rid of 64p conquest on Gen5 or get exhausted with all the meta play on Gen5/PC.
