Game balance feedback.

As someone that’s been a player tester for several games over the years, it seems impossible for me to believe that player testing is happening in BF2042. Its impossible to believe that feedback from the test bed is effecting vehicle design in 2042.

If player testing is in fact happening, it’s time to find some new testers. If it’s not happening, why in God’s name isn’t it?

Hind and Condor are the most glaring examples since the game went live. More recently the stealth helos along with Hind and Condor still being game breaking post 50mm nerf.

The fact that the Hannibal and Huron stealth helos were allowed to go live shows BF players and the gaming industry that DICE has absolutely no idea how to balance vehicles and reveals the lack of proper testing.

As a result we are seeing and experiencing first hand days/weeks/months of misery for infantry players being farmed by these obscenely OP aircraft.

- stealth or flares, not both

- 30mm or bombs, not both

- loadouts: air v air package or air v ground. Not both. Currently stealth helos are strong vs all opposition regardless of loadout. Broken, broken, broken OP.

- incoming critical damage needs to drastically effect handling and speed

- Rao’s hack is a joke. As a pilot it rarely, if ever, effects what I am trying to do.

- any small arms fire should do damage to the helo when in stealth in order to chip away at stealth mode

- fix the damned sounds. Rotor and engine sounds are nearly non existent to nearby infantry.
- SOFLAM should work vs stealth

- Wildcat AA missile locking time should be reduced and the range should be doubled compared to shoulder fired AA

  • @EA_Atic Cool. But the feedback continues to be, "There's something wrong with the current testing processes and players are consistently calling out those balance issues immediately upon seeing them."

Like the condor/hind problems. Like the stealth helicopter problems. Like the new DMR being overbuffed due to the blanket buffs to DMR's.

Is this all intended? Because it feels like live servers are being treated as a PTS for balance. Except that unlike an actual PTS where changes are pushed more often, we instead deal with these poor decisions and unfun balance for months on end while hoping that the team even acknowledges the problem/feedback.

It's deeply frustrating and while I know it's a cruddy thing to say since I'm sure the team is all working their butts off...it doesn't FEEL like it as a player.
