Game performance since Update #2

I play at 1440p on an X570 motherboard with an AMD 5950X and an AMD 6900XT Extreme Toxic and 32Gb system ram on Windows 11.  As you can imagine this machine is no slouch.

I was able to play on Ultra settings for the Beta version, the early access version, the release version, and Update #1.  Frame rate was consistently between 90 and 120 for all versions with no stuttering or noticeable slow downs.

Enter Update #2:  Now with max settings I’m getting 40-60 fps with regular slow downs to below 20 fps with very noticeable hit registration issues.  Interestingly, when I drop all settings to Low, the figures are somewhat the same, still with sub 20 fps slow downs.

Can anyone recommend a good BF2042 optimisation video which they have had success with please?

  • I dont believe its your system or your settings. Its the game. I have a lowend to medium end pc. I was getting 80+ fps consistently in games last night then just this morning Im at 40 to 60fps with drops to the 20s to 30s and I havent changed a damn thing in my settings since those numbers last night. Im tired of changing stuff to make the game run better. When its obvious its not on our end but theirs.

Edit: I also read an acticle somewhere that there is a memory leak that will drop your fps after playing an hour or so. Not sure sure if its true or not but the article said to close out the game and restart it every so often.

I have googled every possible optimization yeah some will help with a few fps here and there but ultimately I think its just the game and it needs work.

It is 100% the game. Even Nvidia didn't manage to create a "gameplay / graphic trailer" for BF 20-42 fps without framedrops / performance issues...

@RatedChaotic Yep the frame rate will get lower the longer you play until it then kicks you to the desktop.
Windows literally kicks battlefield out of ram
