So they are "fixing" the gas effect according to twitter. That was an issue? Most fatal one? Who gives the priority to them to make such changes? I think next changes could be removing the rest like storm and destructible things. After that we are having nice and clean cod... no, new shiny battlefield...

@WindowsManTv_CZE The gas is not a big issue (compared to other issues), but still one of those things that are just annoying and not doing anything but making the game feel 'stupid'.

@cso7777Yes I agree on that. But hey, new Update that will come this month has huge Fixes / Improvements... So lets hope for its best. 🙂

@TTZ_Dipsy I'd argue larger patches aren't viable, especially since we haven't really received any in the 6 months since launch (April is the first) and it's unlikely that subsequent patches will be as large as they'll likely return to the Jan/March size.But even with validation and build merging it should be a fairly quick fix and not something that takes a lot of time.Until we remember...Frostbite engine, and the endless horror stories from developers over the years about how nightmarish doing literally anything with the engine is.I genuinely worry that until the engine tools are improved for the developers, or until they move to another engine, that we're not going to see anything change on this front and that even simple changes that should be doable in a matter of hours will take weeks of work.Again, look at the map changes. Most of them are just dropping in existing assets to these maps, not even changing terrain geometry (though there is a bit of that on Kaleidoscope!), and could/should be doable in a weekend. Map modders do bigger changes with a few people over a single weekend, yet we're looking at "months" of work from the AAA team working on this game at DICE.It really doesn't give us any reason to be optimistic for the future. But I'm still holding out for the April patch before deciding whether the money I spent on the Gold edition is a total waste or not. Hopefully the April update is a lot more exciting than we think, and that it's the start of actually improve communications (these communications from DICE still suck a big one and are still lame, infrequent, and lack any personality, humility, or emotion). But my expectations are in the gutter based on all current evidence available.

@Kompura Realistically it should be a fairly quick fix to adjust the damage values (to 0) and reduce the effect of the screen effect. But as with anything in this game, even the smallest changes seem like they require a considerable amount of effort and resources.

What I don't like are the side effects that come with it, like causing grenades, thrown or launched from an underbarrel attachment blow up in your face.

Hello @Kompura

The gas from pipes deals damage + your screen is loosing vision.. It can make huge disadvantage if enemy appears in front of you.. Also you can die due the gas damage if you want to hide into building to heal yourself..

Its great that this will no longer deal damage and that 90% vizual effect will be gone. 🙂

Even minor changes are still subject to greenlights, testing, authentication, etc. I too would prefer faster, yet smaller updates but larger patches are still viable.

Yes, that is quite an annoying factor with it.
