Give us the option to wear the generic US/RU uniforms.

This would help with the immersion even more and appease players who wish to not play with the appearance of a specialist, helping enforce the fact that the player is just another nameless soldier in war I propose 2 simple solutions for this.

1-Just make them like the recruit in siege.

2-Make them a "generic" skin that adapts based on faction for all the specialists.

And along with this, allow players to wear different camo patterns on the uniform such as:

-Desert

-Woodland

-Arctic

-Night

-Urban

This seemingly small change would make a tremendous amount of players happy, This feature has been heavily requested by the playerbase.

  • Along with the AI skins that are in the game for 2042, it would be cool for them to bring the BF3 models from Portal to the AoW too. It is still Russia vs US so the theme works.

Yep that's not a bad idea, that gets my vote. 👍

  • I agree.  And what the f*ck is up with purple?  Who the hell wears purple cammo?  Apparently this is a favorite color of someone there

  • @hbadger2115 Thats not gonna happen because that means the specialist system has to be replaced completely.
If you use a generic soldier you're no longer stuck to one specific gadget and you would be able to carry for example a repair tool and rocket launcher just like previous titles.

@SkyL4Ncer21 Not really, it’s just a skin you could add. I like visually knowing who I’m up against though, if I see it’s a McKay I know they may zip up. If it’s Liz I might eat a rocket, etc. Classes were like that, you could tell what potential weapons they had based on appearance. I’d like some actual military style uniforms to choose from, or lean into the nopat concept and have a mix of camo from different militaries. Using a generic skin like the AI wouldn’t be a great choice IMO. More camo and less purple hero bs gets my vote.

The idea about specialists as specific indivuduals with looks (constantly refined), history and so on is imho plain bad, and the resources invested in creating and refining those characters would be better used elsewhere. Sure you can forget about it during game from time to time, but it contributes in no way to the immersion and enjoyment of the game, quite the opposite. I just can't fool my mind into playing as a specific individual, when I meet the very same individual constantly both in my own team and, even worse, in the team I'm fighting - it just makes NO sense. Generic soldiers, or soldiers customizable to make up your own character would be so much better. (and frankly the only logical and reasonable set up)
