@Corvus8gaming One of the advertised features at launch was, that the found a solution to improve enemy visibility. At that point it was a lack of any camos for the specialists, that worked on the map environments.
Then people pointed out, that it is very difficult to tell friend from foe, so they choose the lighthouse method and placed lights around the character models.
Imho, not the best decision, but really helpful locating targets in sandstorms, or foilage and bushes.
To reduce the "light pollution" it helps to go prone.
