Guide of joystick settings for Jets anyone?
Does anyone know if there is a good guide for Joystick settings for jets?
Or does anyone have some tips for the settings?
I'm using a Thrustmaster T16000 M.
Although I played quite some flight sims way back in the days (Fleet defender, European Air War, Jane's WW2 Fighters, Falcon 4.0, IL-2, just to name some) I somehow struggle with the jets in BF2042. I can't seem to find any joystick stetting which let's me steer those jets without crashing myself all the time (let alone even fighting others). I can't find a setting which makes flying "feel right".
Wait, how did you get a HOTAS to sync up with the game? I was in the understanding that using a HOTAS won't work? are you using Joytokey or some software version?
that being said, I use a Logitech Extreme 3D Pro and its a direct connection to 2042 with no software program used for conversion.
In my controller menu > Controller Schemes, I have everything set to custom. After fiddling around with settings on my end of things, I found the only area that can be seen for a difference is in the actual Joystick settings where there's only 3 options to set. I have both deadzone's set to 0 and the Input Threshold set to 100% for both jets and helicopters. This is apparent for me because that also directly correlates to aiming and zoom aim sensitivity, its easier to zero in on targets with guns that way. I also did a looping test and there is no difference in time when looping around if you set your input threshold at 0 or 50 or 100%.so really in the end its up to you when it comes to your settings and feel.
if you're using joytokey software, the game thinks you're using an xbox controller, so you really need to dial in your fine tuning when it comes to the Controller settings side of things. you may also have to clear out your keybindings when it comes to the "Xbox Controller" as well.there's also an area in the settings which will have "Helicopter sensitivity control" and "Pilot sensitivity control" I set mine all the way to 100. And also the Vehicle 3rd person Field of View = max
Here's a good video to kinda go off of. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WUU1F5r-X8U&ab_channel=YuriyD.TV
