Dice - specifically gun balance devs. Please buff damage on M5A3 CLOSE COMBAT rounds from 10 meters up to 30 meters to 22 damage. If you look at the time to kill M5A3 in the chart below, close combat rounds on M5 lacking damage from 10 meters up to 30 meters. M5A3 should be doing 22 damage from 0-30 meters. K30, MP9, and PBX-45 have faster time to kill from 10 meters to 30 meters compared to M5A3 close combat. I don't think it is fair for M5 with close combat to do less damage over 10-30 meters. Please also take a look at Ak-24 as that gun is also terrible from 10 meters up to 30 meters. Ak-24 should have an option to equip short barrel so it can do at list 700 rate of fire and be somewhat more versatile weapon like m5.

I second this. I only use ARs and I feel like they suck up close. I mean I expect an SMG to beat me most of the time but if they dont have aim give me a shot

AK vs M4 are most balanced pair in the game. Everything works as expected. Short barrel + close combat rounds makes uzi out of m4. While AK is better for mid range. Its balanced and works very well

To keep things simple here are two guns with essentially the same fire rate, both with Close Combat rounds and I have them set up for what I use personally. Understandably, the M5A3 with Close Combat rounds should not equal the MP9 as it is still an AR archetype. I would only suggest that the 22 damage ends at 20m instead of the current 10m, still giving the MP9 a damage advantage at 20-30m and 40-50m, along with the ammo advantage of 14 rounds, If you look at the stats versus an M5A3 with Standard Issue rounds:The Close Combat rounds only have a small advantage in time to kill from 0-10m and 30-40m, while Standard Issue rounds have a larger advantage at all other ranges. The buff of 22 damage at 0-20m will give the intended advantage of close combat, while not encroaching on the actual SMG archetype that is the MP9, and leaving the Standard Issue rounds as the overall better mid-range choice.

I second this. I only use ARs and I feel like they suck up close. I mean I expect an SMG to beat me most of the time but if they dont have aim give me a shot

The AC42's TTK is also unjustifiably high:
~ 380 ms at distance < 30 m
~ 450 ms at 29 < D < 75 m

I think the SFAR is slighly OP compared to the other ARs and it pretty much makes them obsolete if you've got good aim (the high power setup for the SFAR is versatile, there's no need to switch ammo type and barrel for close vs medium vs long range combat). Either the other ARs need a minor buff or the SFAR needs to get slightly nerfed
Within ~ 20 m, I think SMGs should outperform ARs

Ive always been of the mind that certain weapons were better for certain maps.
SMGs are the short game and SHOULD outperform all weapons in this range.   Your midrange cannot compete because it wasnt designed to complete. Your Midrange outperform all SMGs at mid range.   Do we now give the SMG equipment to outperform midrange weapons? What about sniping.   I was very successful sniping with a midrange weapon on single fire.   TAP TAP TAP DEAD.
The point is you have to choose the weapon based on your playstyle. I use my AR on Hourglass maps.   I use my smg on short maps, I snipe on big maps.   That is the point

@InS_Hypno No I thik you are wrong. Scar right now is most effective gun in the game not close combat rounds on m5a5. Have you played with close combat rounds post nerf. Its 6 bullets to kill after 10 meters. You are rarely going to engage at 0-10 meters.

@Padding_Ur_Stats M5A5 or AK is not good enough from 10-30 meters that in my opinion is not a midrage. Mid range for me its more like 50-100

If you struggle with the m5 close combat short barrel you are the problem
