@MaratBoyit cant?? im sure ive seen alot of HC lobbies maybe you was trying when no one was hosting? maybe look up a guide and make one yourself to host? only downfall of portal is the kills and stuff dont count for the base game. only XPYou're right. There is a lot it can do to provide a more hardcore experience. I'm not saying it's a replacement for hardcore, I really wish they had included it in the other modes, but the ability to mess with damage to torso/head, global damage, healing rates (or turn it off), downed state (dead, down, crawl), bullet velocity, removal of weapons/gadgets/vehicles you choose, etc., etc., there is a lot you can do. I realize there are limitations like HUD selection (essentially on or off) and first-person vs. 3rd in vehicles but I'm still finding it way better than the vanilla 2042 gameplay. In fact, if there were a hardcore mode and even though it would entice me to spend some time in AOW, I would likely still play mostly in Portal.
Karmakut (YT'er) usually doesn't bother with these types of games as he's more into the milsim / hardcore genre. However, he has recently been working on his own server to create a more milsim experience in Portal. .....not the same a hardcore and beyond how I would want to play (e.g. no hud) but shows what can be done.
I think Portal will become the success many of us thought it would if they act quickly to correct the XP debacle. .....and fix the other issues, balancing, etc. affecting this game. if that happens then I can see them coming through with the vision of future upgrades for the mode and new features based on player feedback. ....like opening up all weapons across the games (BF3, 1942, BC2 and 2042). Adding new maps, more weapons / vehicles from past games, new BF iterations like BF4, BF2, BF2142, etc. New game modes and brining the logic editor to Push and Conquest for even more in-depth modability.
There is a lot of potential there already and more if they can fix their game. Unfortunately, I fear Portal's success may be tied to BF2042. I wish it wasn't down by the rest of the game personally, but it is what it is.
