Hi
problem is the vehicle ratio - the attackers have way too many tanks, choppers and what else and defenders has way too weak weapons against. Let's take tanks vs recoils - it takes 4 recoils to kill a tank. It takes 3 recoils to kill the sportscar EBBA (stupid since the more amor the more weight you car holds - the slower it can drive).
Then choppers - stealth chopper - nothing against it - unless you hack it first. To use Rao and hack you are exposed for snipers and what else and it takes too long to hack. During hack the chopper drops flares - in 3 waves - during that time no lock is possible and chopper fly to safe distance. If you do manage to get lock and fire - he is now at such a distance and by the time stinger reach chopper - he is ready again to fire flares - meaning you cannot do a thing - you need to rely on teammates elsewhere to launch stingers / recoils.
Is the use of Rao / hack choppers then worth the risk ? Very often when I hack choppers I get killed by snipers and reward at best is spot assist points or hack points because someone then got the kill. Teamwise great - chopper got killed - K/D ratio wise for me - not so good.
Choppers should have one wave of flares as they had at launch date or you should be able to get a lock on chopper during his waves of flares and as soon as last wave is done you can fire stinger. A flare is a countermeassure for rockets fired towards the plane / chopper and not an anti lock thing.
Flare reload times needs to be increased - remember a chopper is a fragile peace of equipment and not a flying tank !

rarely if ever do i see any choppers going after eachother on porpuse...
its more of a mutual agreement you leave me be i leave you be...
vehicle balance in 2042 is just plain and simple nonexistent...
Stealthchoppers out-damage wildcats, wildcats outdamage tanks transport air vehicles outdamage everything....

The community asked for less players too, and would you look at this? We are still seeing the exact same complaints with no 128 player Breakthrough experience in the game.
The biggest issue with defending in Battlefield as this also applies to Rush is that most of the people on the defending teams go about it all wrong.
For example. How some defenders are in the chat during the match crying about how they do not have enough vehicles when the active objective is indoors and having more vehicles gives defenders no advantage beyond actually being in the building where the objective area is watching an entrance.
Since most of the people playing Battlefield now are obsessed with K/D padding and challenges for xp. Doing common sense things to win the match never seems to cross their minds.
Also what is this crap that I have been seeing in Breakthrough when the defenders are actually locking down the first sector about to win? Then someone gets in the chat and says, "let them take it? This is some of the most annoying nonsense that I have seen in Battlefield, and when I do decide to walk away from this series. This kind of crap will be at the top of my list of reasons why.
- 4 years ago@X-Sunslayer-X you don't see helicopters going 1v1 because the fights are very short and once one wins the other player gets 2 minutes to go focus on infantry. I fly a lot and I will always prioritize helicopters and transports if the transport doesn't have repairs.
But that only takes a few minutes out of a match..then you can help your team clear a point or defend a point.
Air support helps infantry on the ground. A stealth heli or NB supporting taking a flag makes it a lot easier for infantry, if only because enemy infantry waste time using lock ons and don't defend the point.
Both teams benefit from air support. People only seem to think air support is opressive to them personally and don't appreciate when it helps them.
