Headshots galore
Everyone kills me with headshots. Abnormally high rate.
In every match played the other day, I'd easily say 90% of my deaths were headshots . Im not on cross-platform. XBOX players only

I dont even think I have aim assist on. If I do. Its no good. I cant kill * anymore
I have the same and I can't imagine it has anything to do with aim assist.
About 90% for me as well and it's from close to long range.
And it's super fast kills, enemies that seems to be able to react, aim and do headshot in 100 ms.
Just had a game where I had something that I've seen quite a lot in BF2042:
1 on 1 with an enemy in a empty place on the map with no one else but very far away.
I see the enemy first, doing some shots but nothing seems to register.
Having the enemy two meters in front of me I clearly see him aiming down to the ground to his left side—so very far from me.
What happens?
He does a headshot on me instantly the first shot I can hear.
Conclusion must be there's something very f-ed up.
(PS5, 1gb internet, usually about 18–19 ping in BF1 and BF5, although in BF2042 it's weirdly enough around 30–45 most often.)
Yeah, I've noticed a lot of headshots from console players. It's clear the aim assist works better then people think it does. I have way too many insta deaths when I'm trying to unload an entire clip into someone.
On a side note, armor should not protect your face. Hate how I can unload in a face and get blue X marks on it cause they have a 'shield', makes no sense.

I have noticed that it doesn't matter if im in a laggy game or a buttery smooth one, the game always claim I have 30ms. Its to the point that im almost starting to think its a placeholder and not an actual measurement.

Does it protect the head though?
Im pretty sure I read somewhere that it didn't. I hardly ever run into anyone using armor anymore though, so its been a long time since I actually experienced it

Yes it does protect the head. I managed to not OHK an "Angel" with a bolt action rifle shot on the head yesterday. It was about 80m away?
I think what happened was that the damage dropoff was just enough for the headshot multiplier to not equal 100 damage.
I was using Standard issue ammo. Maybe it would had been OHK with long range ammo.
Was there a change to Aim Assist for consoles? Literally, every kill from a console player is a headshot recently. PC about 25% of the time.
So does aim assist lock on for headshots?
