Just give up. DICE are never going to address the OP air vehicles in this game, despite all the feedback for months from infantry players.
I already see that they've already reversed the nerf to jets with 24 hours of the last patch, that basically just made them a bit slower (possibly making them easier to shoot). Within 24 hours - that's been reversed. Meanwhile the extensive rework for engineers, is to basically make 2 of them useless and give 1 of them an extra rocket.
Just give up. 2042 is for pilots and DICE don't care about anyone else.

While I want the engineers to get even better vs all vehicles myself, I think you are exaggerating about the jets hotfix.
It is not a reversal it is a tweak. The afterburner is still having a stamina bar for the first time in my BF related memory.
I have not tried them myself yet, but mark my words, any nerf to jets in aspects that do not involve the ground targets is an indirect buff to the helis that torment you so... especially to the nightbird.

It’s ironic, because nobody cries harder than pilots do, whenever a vehicle or gadget gets buffed to a degree where it becomes a realistic threat to them.
Yet here they are, blaming infantry for crying and for lacking game skill - and social skill too, even…!

Btw. I don’t care if you’ve spent hundreds of effin’ hours learning how to get good at flying.
Nothing justifies how DICE always-always makes air units too strong compared to infantry.

It is a matter of numbers, the aircraft per team are counted in the fingers of one hand (sometimes the sum of the aircraft of both teams) while the infantry per team are between 16 and 64.
How would the game be if each soldier equaled one aircraft in firepower? Vehicles were invented to surpass the limitations of the human body and the individual.
The better infantry players already surpass most vehicles in total kills in most cases (they may just die more). How do they manage that? Because they only have to wait 12 sec to return to the battle in the case of death (not counting the travel time) and that is if they do not get revived.
The matter is that there must be a balance that both prevents a pilot from being an immortal slaughtering machine that can negate all reprisal (" because they got skillz" ) like the BF3 Jets and to also not reduce aircraft to something that is just good enough for traversing the terrain faster before ditching them.
It is always harder to find that balance in modern wars due to the need to balance the homing missiles instead of just skillshots.

Not related to air vehicles at all, but related to making engineers even more useless - I found out today that a stealth tweak in Update 6.0 was to reduce the under-barrel GL ammo to one grenade per type. So that's another nerf to engineers via the AP grenade launchers!

Vote with your feet, just stop playing and let these aircraft basement dwellers play against AI only while player count plummets :-)
