I feel exactly the same on PC.
Many times I feel like "okay enemy must be dead by that amount of bullets I shot" and change my target to the next when I realise the first one is still alive and kills me.
It never felt so weird in any other shooter game for me. BF5 had similar issues but not that bad.
When I shoot like 6 bullets into an enemy he MUST be dead. Regardless the range I fight him when its an AR and he has no armor plates.

Its basically because players are now put in closest region if they have none available thus needing to implement huge amounts of lag comensation to make the game playable for them.
Thats what the netcode improvement's actually really meant in the patch notes........netcode improvments for non local players.

Agreed @emerson1975 ,
Doubt they will, but EA need to come clean on to how high a ping they allow players to join a given server with.
And next, also explain to what level of ping they do lag compensation for, to 'smooth out' the gameplay for those high ping players on a given server?
I have confirmed contact with other players on same local European server as me, with some of those bullet sponging players. So have hard evidence that players from both Japan and also South America was placed into the same gameplay as me and fellow European located players. We typically have a latency of 18-35ms at the max to our local regional servers, while these far out of region players are up in the 700-1,400 ms range!
So if the BF2042 servers are now using an e.g. 200-500ms lag compensation algorithm, then no wonder that we at times have a * experience playing this game.
It feels often like the servers, soldier and vehicle movements and the hit reg are totally out of sync with client side. So not talking about the normal 16-30ms that we are used to from BFV and previous games, but more like a constant 200-500ms delay on everything we do in this game.
Like why do we not get the kill confirmation icon until long after we have stopped shooting?
Or if you are being chased around a corner. Then when being killed it takes a again a second or more for the enemy player to appear in the line of sight on my side.
'Displayed latency' is maybe about 50-80ms in the game, but the actual latency is obviously way way higher.
And that leaves all players with a poor gaming experience...

@CyberDymeOlder titles had problems with 'displayed latency' as well.
In BF1 sometimes people could peek out of cover, shoot you and go back to cover without you seeing them move on screen. Frostbite has some fundamental issues.
2042 is on another level of bad. The getting instakilled/killed behind cover is extreme and it feels like playing againt 200ms-ping players all the time.
Also the movement of some players, especially further away seems "erratic" like they rubberband / jitter a little. Whether this is the game engine or high pingers I don't know.
- 3 years ago@emerson1975 It IS the major downfall of so called "competitive shooter games" in this, the last generation and future generations of gaming. I get 15-18 ping to my local AWS server farm and I am at a detriment against high ping players due to no fault of my own.
Back in the day before they started this lag compensation crutch they code into the game like they are doing anyone any favors you had compensate for your own lag. YOURS! You learned how to lead your target or how to deal with it. Instead, they handicap everyone else because someone else has a bad situation.
Sounds like a certain ideology sweeping the world these days huh! Yeah, it's that asinine.

@SooxzayI’m having same issues. Been this way since the season 1 update. After 4.0 update it was fine but now happens again. This is something else that needs looking at asap and fixed via a hotfix, poor hitreg is so frustrating and ruins matches.
- 3 years ago@Sc0tch_Whiskey I’m so glad this new update on July 6th does not fix or mentioned the hitreg problem. I mean why would I want to shoot another player in a shooting game. Doesn’t make sense to me!

You can clearly tell when the server gets flooded with high ping players because your bullets turn into marshmallows….:turn off the servers your laughable!
- 3 years ago@Sc0tch_Whiskey It is still terrible today. For me it is when I am playing against a console player with a high ping. They are basically aimbots that are invincible. I have to reload after every kill because I need 20+ rounds to kill someone and I die instantly.

If tomorrow's patch doesn't fix the problem(s), I'll damn the game and origin launcher from my PC and send it to hell.
I'm one of the first BF players ever!
