i joined today one lobby. Hitregs were just broken. There were players who entered room and headshotted four before we even seen them coming. I have been playing since fps games existed. I guess there has not been any quality management in this game at all.

Companies are trying to give everyone a "fair" experience, even if that individual has a horrible internet connection. If a player is not able to be even slightly competitive, they're not going to stick around, and if they're aren't playing then they certainly are not going to spend money. That's been the mentality for most companies I've seen. That would be tolerable if the whole point of your game, and the satisfaction you gain from playing, didn't entirely derive from winning gunfights.
We have better technology and hardware, yet playing online games haven't felt like they progressed at the same rate because of this mentality. I wasn't around on PC for the Arena era, but it seemed like some of those games were trying to work on that issue. Having a targeted ping would result in having the most accurate experience. Maybe some of the competitive titles like CSGO and Valorant are doing stuff like that, I don't really play them because they're just too **bleep** slow regarding movement.
I feel like I've been playing shooters for decades as well, and the fairness of playing online doesn't feel like it's improved. It probably has greatly in a lot of ways, but hasn't improved in the ways I'd like to see it I guess.
Management gate keeps passion and talent. Companies sole purpose of existence now days is to make increasing profits year over year for shareholders. On top of all that, cheaters are running rampant in every online FPS game. I've seen videos of people interviewing cheaters, testing cheats themselves, talking to cheat sellers, and the conservative estimate of how many people cheat in any given game is anywhere from 20-30+ percent. No one rage hacks anymore, so it's a lot harder to detect if you're playing in the realm of what's possible by a very good player. A perfect storm I guess.
