So how would one break out of a spawn trap if you can't use vehicles in your home base? You can shoot into their base with rockets yes to kills those tanks but they couldn't fight back? That sounds rather unbalanced.
I’m not sure how it would be fixed!!! Prevent them from shooting in as well. The issue with tanks just sitting in their home base and getting kills without advancing is an issue the armor should be advancing to help capture sectors not just sitting in base getting kills while being protected. If they do not want to engage in the battle and capturing of sectors then get out of it and let someone else use it to help the team. The fact that players sit in the armor an entire round never leaving their home base is just as big of an issue rushing in to the opponents home base to spawn camp!

the guy sitting in the tank in his spawn bought the game too. he's not breaking any rules and he can play however he wants

I am not saying I would use the vehicle better so please don’t just assume, I am more of an infantry fighter although in my BF2 days I was quite good in Jets and Helicopters. All I am saying is that when you have infantry capturing sectors or trying to but the r other team is efficient with infantry and armor well there is no balance. Yes if you purchase the game you have the ability to play any way you would like! All I am saying is this does not benefit the team in any way and I like the aspect of team play not individual play hence why I have always chosen BF over COD!
