Depending on the number of players we perform the dance as describe above if we are just 5 or 6 players. If we are more than 6, this does not work as the last players will have to wait in queue far too long for this to be a workaround that would be acceptable.
What we do instead is to synchronize the time when we click 'Play' to start the match making (you need a >2s delay to increase the likelihood to be placed in the same team) and call out the map that has been found (and the team we would be on) and click cancel if this does not align, say we would get Hourglass as a map or different maps (read: different servers) or would be placed on different teams.
