How do you quit the game using a console command?

Is there really no way to quit the game from the console? It takes way too long at the end of a round to get back to the main menu and select quit. 99% of the time I have to Alt + Tab and kill the BF2042.exe process via PowerShell/task manager.

Alt + F4 seems to do the trick, but I imagine it causes game file corruption from time to time.

  • It should be safe to use ALT + F4 so long as the save icon isn't spinning in the top right corner of the screen.

That's why games have a save icon. The icon basically means, "Do not close the game or power off the console while this icon is on screen. If you do the game's save file will be corrupted!"
