I usually play the prior one till a new one comes out and then I don't look back.
BF2 - 5 years
BFBC2 - 1 year
BF3 - 2 years
BF4 - 3 years
BF1 - 2 years
BFV - 3 years
BF2042 - Until the next BF.
I have skipped a few versions in between that didn't really interest me but versions large conquest could be played were played for many hours.
- 4 years ago@GRiPSViGiL I will usually try to do the same thing, but cheating and tinkering with the game's mechanics can cause me to jet pretty quickly.

Played Battlefield 1942 and 2 up until EA turned off the multiplayer
Played BF3 up until BF4 came out
Played BF4 a little but it was just nerf after nerf until nothing was fun.
Still go back to BF1 every so often.
BF5 I can play for like 10 minutes until I get bored.

That's dedication !
In terms of real gameplay time, then for the most recent versions where I have the numbers, this is the dire picture on my time with BF:
BF4: 7,484 hours.
BF1: 20 hours.
BFV: 93 hours.
So what makes me hang on to it or getting tired of it:
- Level of AC and ability to get rid of the cheats or not.
- The overarching gameplay experience and if there is great variation from game to game, which is influenced by among others...
- The gameplay mechanics
- The maps
- The choice of vehicles and weapons and their internal balance

BF3 = 891h
BF4 = 710h
BF1 = 420h
BFV = 2164h
BFV has superb gunplay so even though I dislike the WW2 era it has the best gunplay to date in a BF or any other game it can be compared to in my opinion.- 4 years ago
I uninstalled bf4, 1, & 5 and have been playing flight simulator since release.....

For the games I have numbers, over 1400 hours each on BF4 & 1, previous titles would be high too.
Relatively speaking BFV is very low because it was no fun and that is the important thing for me, FUN.
BF4 has that in spades although it is now a dated game, BF1 still has it to a degree but makes up on it by being a much smoother game.
BFV was just constant 'hard work'.
Hopefully, BF2042 will follow the former more than the latter.

Currently on 1627 hours for BF1 and 1070 hours for BFV, and so far I still play both regularly. Only got 206 hours in BF4 but I started playing that long after BF1 came out (also own BFBC2, BF3 and Hardline, but very little play time for those).
I guess what I'm getting at is that it takes a long time for me to get bored. Even then I'll usually come back after a little break - I'm playing The Sims 4 for a change of pace at the moment actually.
