Next to none. I liked to go melee in previous Battlefields whenever there was a good opportunity. In BF 2042, I'll rather send bullets than risk a long 3rd person camera melee exposing you to the enemy and hindering your awareness (and possibly also risking some bugs and glitches, unless they fixed it already (I didn't try it again for a long time)). The melee attacks are a great example of how to ruin a perfectly working and entertaining game mechanics just for the sake of a profit.
