@FlibberMeisterI will say me and my brother in EVERY Battlefield game, when one of gets a armored vehicle the other will respawn and grab a repair tool. Except in 2042, the repair tool is mostly useless, it repairs very little too slowly plus it overheats way to fast I have figured out how to use it more effectively but it's still bad (stop using it at 1/2 to 3/4 way then let it cool down real quick). Your better off picking anti tank gadget and helping friendly vehicles.
Good.
It's a crutch for bad tank players and was ridiculous in BFV.
I believe in BF4 they made it that the repair only kicked in after a delay when a vehicle had taken damage.
But I can't remember if that was just in CTE or made it into the game.
As to OP on how to play tank, don't bother on any map that does not provide adequate cover for tanks to hide under or behind.
I literally have maps where I will only spawn in the tank dependent purely on which side I am on.
I.e. Renewal RU side, I can pick the tank because there's good cover around the flags close to base including the underpasses but on US side you can't hang around the flags close to base because infantry have all the cover and LOS hiding points once they start attacking A.
And once they take A they will be spawning behind you and also climbing the tower and then targeting your tank from there with weapons, and C5 attacks via bat wings and parachutes.
So you can sit on the flat hills between A and the wall but you'll be completely ineffective and bored.
Go past the wall to RU side and you'll end up dying pretty quickly so really no point tanking on US side in renewal conquest if you want to survive most of the round in one or two tanks.
In the video you have no cover and are just a sitting duck.
To survive in a tank in 2042 you always have to have cover you can quickly escape to. If not you will die very quickly against any competent team.
