How will the ps4 pro and Xbox one X run BF2042?

So, with these being the elite old gen consoles, how will they run Bf2042?

Honestly, with The next gen consoles, being hard to come by because of scalpers, the smart move for most would be to get a ps4 pro or Xbox one X for the next couple years, until demand is in supply without being 1000 dollars for a console thats supposed to sell at 499USD, anyone that would buy a ps5 or Xbox Series X for 999 is insane, for 1000$ USD you can buy a PC sm

thats stronger than the ps5 and Xbox Series X.

  • This is a question that I myself am very concerned about. Mainly because there was no visual difference in quality on the beta on my One X and One S on my 4K TV. The file size is the same. There did not appear to be any graphical enhancement patches on the One X. The One X was just running the same resolution (900p native I'm guessing) upscaled to 4k that the One S was doing. Basically, it looked awful especially when compared to the One X enhanced versions of BFV and BF1 with enhanced textures and a dynamic 4K resolution. If Dice does not add an enhanced patch to BF2042 on One X I won't be buying. Why the hell would I want to play a 900p native resolution game on my One X? Especially after enjoying the crisp sharp graphics on BFV/BF1 for so long. On the Microsoft Xbox store in the details section for BF2042 it does not list the One X enhanced feature as the other previous games do. I'm very worried that I'm going to be sorely disappointed by I game Ive been waiting and hoping for since BF4.

  • I heard the player cap is 64 players on old gen. I guess that should say enough... Hopefully new gen consoles won't be too difficult to get this holiday.

Yep this is confirmed which means that last gen consoles will probably be in their own pools and not play with current gen consoles. Hopefully last gen will have cross play with one another  to maximize player numbers

  • Hello @HawkeyeAM47

PS4 and Xbox One will run 64 Player Servers. Smaller maps on Old-Gens And EA CEO said that BATTLEFIELD 2042 looks incredible on Old-Gens too. 🙂

You can buy Cross-Gen budle so if you buy PS5 or Xbox Series X, you will have the game on your account.

Wouldn't the Xbox Series S* be the better choice? I know there are some big differences between it and the Series X, but you'd be able to play the 128 player matches.

*Based on the fact that they seem quite easy to get in the UK at the moment. May not be the case for other countries of course.

  • The series S is a better choice for those who want less power to be consumed in their home, for those who want to go digital and also for those who don't have enough money.

In my case, I will just buy a Series S to play Battlefield 2042, I will buy probably buy this game on PC too when it will be on sale. I don't even need an Series X because I don't have enough money to play 4k 120fps games despite having a 60hz TV.(my tv supports the refresh rate of 120hz) I have also seen that it's much easier now to get an Series S or X than before probably because lots of people are starting to get a next gen console now but I could be wrong...

  • @Player55 The series S seems like a good idea for next gen titles, but I would rather wait it out for the series X, and if you go on the xbox website for availability, ot says out of stock on all of them, and maybe one available at Walmart for 999$usd which is a ripoff at that price
  • Probably better than my xbox one s (not the new series s) lol, I am skeptical about that, but I will give it a go during open beta.

I understand maps will be trimmed down in size and players too to 64 which is fine, just as long as it runs ok smooth, in the same boat as some others and I'm not dying or willing to pay a scalper 900$ for a new system, also I too might consider the new xbox series S, anyone looking to do that I suggest checking out Best Buy or targets, I have seen them in stock a hella lot more frequently at those stores than the other new systems.
