@1Hairy-Gorilla Sony encrypted the firmware and USB signals to the ps5 DualSense controller. Sony was allowing the ps4 DualShock controller to work for a while on ps5, but now they're locking it out and requiring game developers to only support DualSense 5 with haptic feedback.
Sony wants to make big money by locking out 3rd party controller manufactures so the only place to buy a replacement controller is from Sony.
@OskooI_007 They did that to force you into buying a DS5 hehe. Xbox pads are encrypted and it doesn't stop Xim there :S If that's the right term they did something different to the USB protocol. BTW like I said don't own one yet but DS4 can be used for PS4 games on PS5? Unless things changed in the last 4 months.
@TANGO_TX no recoil is nothing vs aimbots, wallhacks and ESP lol. anything else is made up click bait junk 🙂

@1Hairy-Gorilla You're right Xbox controllers do have encrypted authentication, but the DualSense 5 controller encrypts firmware, buttons, and analog stick signals.
So there's no way for the XIM to 'fake' a DualSense 5, because the ps5 will only accept encrypted button press signals.XIM on Xbox just passed through the authentication signal then sends unencrypted button presses.
The end result is Sony can lock out all controllers, XIMs, Cronus', and macro script adapters like Titan 2, and 3rd party rapid fire controllers.
I'm actually considering buying a ps5 just because it's such a cheat free environment now.- 4 years ago
@OskooI_007 That's cool if it stays that way, Join the club lol hitting F5 every time there is a hint of a PS5 drop :S Just can't go back to base consoles at this point hehe.

I should mention Sony's move is discriminatory againt disabled people though, unless they come out with officially licensed gaming peripherals to help people with disabilities play video games like Microsoft does on Xbox.
But as of right now Sony has no such devices and is discriminating against the disabled.
