Out of curiosity, what region/system are you in?
I generally only play in the evenings on East-Coast-US and rarely see bots [if maybe for 30 seconds at the start of a round] with crossplay on, of course, on PC.
@AnobixI'm in Western Australia (GMT +8hrs). Past BF games called our region Oceania (in that old "legacy" thing called a server browser).
Playing on PS5. Crossplay on of course as I haven't been able to get a match with Crossplay off since the first week of launch.
I'm getting the distinct impression over the past few weeks that Bot populations have been getting higher and lasting longer during matches.
Often the end of round screen will show more than 50% bots on both teams. It's not much fun when this happens (except for the pilots and their gunners).
It's clearly too late to do without bots in this current game due to the lack of players (probably struggle to start ANY matches without them in a reasonable timeframe) but it would be nice if they chose NOT to include them in the next one.

That's awful and I'm sorry to hear that! I wish that you could just use one of those new fangled server browsers and play with other folks even with a bit of a ping disadvantage if required instead of playing a "live service" "multiplayer" game where you largely can't. Seems like a refund should be available to folks in your other other regions where the game is essentially unplayable due to the player count there.
