I have the same problem and use the mouse for extra buttons but my main set of buttons is my keypad. Ironically if you close the Synopes program down completely (bottom right of screen on Windows), the assignments work BUT the keypad keys don’t. So it’s one or the other and Razer don’t care they have your money. Synopes and all the other software that Razer produce are crap, even the latest Synopes 4 is the same, no migration of profiles (don’t let them fool you, it doesn’t work) and it takes more time to install than it takes to install windows and that’s a looooong time.
