@CountSero Well i do hate what theyve become, i dont hate battlefield. Infact i do like the game despite all the problems.
They do have to cater to old hardware saddly, like it or not. And im not sayong this for my sake, hell i have a 10900k,32gbs of ram and a 3080. I dont have a problem running 128 player modes but some of my friends do. One of them has a 6700k 16gbs ram and a 1060. He cant play 128 players cos 20-30 fps is unbearable and i do understand him. He had no problem running bf 5, which is aesthetically a better looking game imho, but he just cant run 128 players. 64 players hes got no problem. So yeah, id say cater to them like they cater to ps4,xbox 1 players cos they have these maps and modes already.
Me i dont mind 128 players but i do like 64 sometimes when im tired of all the chaos. Its a good break from that.

@Nutcrusherr no, they don't have to cater old hardware and yet they are still supporting hardware which was released 5 to 6 years ago.
So, I think that’s is more than enough back in time.
Every gamer, especially if they are into shooter, knows that most of the new AAA games are demanding as hell.
And if gaming on PC is your Hobby you don’t expect that your PC live up to 10 years and play all the games on the way to the end. (Without upgrading!)
As I have written in another thread BF2042 is a DX12 only game and BF1 and BFV where DX11 games which got DX12 added on top. So these games are built completely different and this results in different hardware specs.
the difference from PC to console is that every console (xbox one and PS4) have the same specs. But PC have so many possible specs that it is impossible to get every combination to work so they have to set some borders. Also, that BF2042 is DX12 only game excluding already some older hardware that are not fulfilling the needed specs for DX12.
