You might as well leave the "in breakthrough" part from the topic title. There's a vast majority of players that either have no clue of what the objective in this game is, or simply don't care. If you have too many of them in your team you get overrun or spawn trapped.

Yeah, very true. In BT, I see attackers just farming kills and never attempting to cap an objective. A bunch of streamers do it because it is easy, yet a kill as an attacker is the least important of all functions between the teams. The defenders don't have tickets, so killing an enemy may make it slightly easier to cap an objective, but it is nowhere near as valuable as a kill as a defender. However, as an attacker, it is way more predictable to know where the enemy is holed up to defend an objective.
For Conquest, most players play like it is TDM. However, at least kills reduce the ticket counts on both sides, but if you don't have at least half the objectives, then farming kills is also a waste of time except for your stream.
The biggest problem nowadays is streamers have to play the game in a way to make it appealing to an audience. Playing strategic is normally slower and more methodical. So now you have an entire generation of players, who have watched these streamers play, and they think that is the way to play the game. There is one guy who all he posts are Sundance C5 videos. Again, that is great but the Wildcat in the enemy spawn is a threat to almost no one.

But one point easily overlooked in these 'performance'-related discussions (esp. by those committed to the game, such as those who post here) is that plenty of individuals out there just play to unwind. Just spawn and (try to) have some fun. Grab a gun, build, and try to hit anything that moves without a green or blue mark above it.
Now understandably, those who play strategically are frustrated when they get such players in their team.

Although I'd say if someone wants to just unwind in spawn and get kills and not help their team they should just play solo/co-op and not screw over the other 31/63 other players (in cases where it's 63 the one person sitting back doing nothing is less noticeable, of course).
It obviously is a different situation to saying if you aren't using the 'meta' weapon/loadout you're doing your team a disservice (where, frankly, outside of a couple small exceptions most of the guns are all close enough that everything is viable no matter how many "x gun is OP!" posts are made. I have buddies that T1'd the vcar early on despite it being considered a joke, just because they're good with whatever gun they decide to use.
I realize that the second paragraph is a bit of a ramble/digression from the topic, but I find it loosely related to playing with whatever you think is fun, although I would recommend doing something useful for your team, whether it is spotting, disabling, healing, resupplying, reviving, etc.
