@Icemangooothe whole point of a bigger map is to have more places to hide, besides with vehicles and objectives a sniper only adds to the chaos, if entire teams choose to play with sniper class then they may be missing out on objectives as a sniper is very immobile since their only prerogative is to maim a team and can not stop a flow of vehicles and infantry to take an objective. If your worried about a sniper then you truly have not understood the games objectives in conquest. Your team has to win if you die to sniper over and over then you should stop trying to take the same objective and go somewhere else, or deal with the problem at hand by solving it, sniper glare just takes away that decision making.
With the plus system stopping the flow is possible. Not knowing all Specialist or details it does seem you could have Boris as sentry, RPG sniper.
The whole reason sniper glint was added, and I am most likely wrong here, was because back in BF2 and some of the others, if you knew what you were doing, you could shoot from across the map and still get your 1 shot kills safely with ease. If I recall, 2142, BF3 and BF4 had spots like that as well. But you could at least fight back a little more in BF4.
In BFV, the weather systems helped prevent snipers from camping and being a nuisance. So I'm hoping the weather in 2042 does the same. Lets be real here, most people that play snipers are trolls. They do it to get a rise out of people.
- 5 years ago@Mephiticshepard No, you could not shot across the map and 1HK in BF2 as no headshot modifier.
I don't see your connection with 3D spotting and glint. When Glint was added in BF3 and glint still existed in BF1 and BFV even with reduce spotting.
If you don't want snipers to camp DICE needs to change the weapons to be more like battle rifles then a sniper. However this community sucks for this youse don't want sweet spot back like BF1 yet it made Recon more mobile and closer to the action. Instead the community whinges about long range camping while insisting sniper rifles have glint and more spread when moving.
If you need to stop and ADS for half a second before firing you are going to camp.
Then glint start as soon as you ADS. No wonder they stay at range to try to avoid fire before they can.
Let's not forget the complaints about the need to remove suppression because players don't like RBD.- ninjapenquinuk5 years agoSeasoned Ace
I dont like glint at all but if its implemented it needs to be implemented across the board, not just sniper rifles. Maybe modify the glint so it only happens if you stay scoped in for say 3 secs or something.

@DingoKillrRealistically speaking, if its a sunny, day time map, whether it's cloudy or not and there's no honey comb type of webbing on the end of the scope, there's going to be glare regardless.
Dice has always wanted more realism while also taking on more unrealistic things at the same time. In terms of weapons, ballistics, trajectory, etc. EFT is going down that route though. What I don't agree with is glint happening for sniper rifles without a scope like in BF1 with iron sights. That drove me bat * nuts.
I may have exaggerated a little, I agree with the 1HK, it was probably more like 2 or 3HKs since it has been a good 15 years. 3D spotting never bothered me. What bothered me more than anything was lazy squad leaders or commanders. Squad leaders more than anything.
I never understood suppression either because it never seemed to work with support LMGs. You'd get the tags and exp for suppressing but still end up dead to those players thanks to aim assist.- lzilchetl5 years agoSeasoned Ace
I'm not fussed about snipers. They are a pain, but at least they are not in the flag circle. The counter for a team of snipers is that they don't get to win the game. Perhaps a bit more XP for winning would help focus on the objectives? Larger maps will help as they will find it harder to follow the action. Good coms would help as well for those that like squad play, asking a chopper or jet pilot to take them out. We've all got used to running into the action, perhaps bigger maps will make us remember to check out the terrain before we engage? The reminder above about the commander taking care of snipers in BF2 is on the right lines.
This guy is working hard to clear the way for attack....
