I just started playing - Gotta ask.

Hey guys.

Nice to meet you. I just started playing and I was wondering. Is there a lot of cheating going on in this game? I don't want to accuse anyone but I keep getting killed so easily over and over. Spawn, die, spawn, die, etc. I swear people can see me through walls. And I simply cant get any kills, I can't even see the guys killing me. It's too bad I really like how the game looks and the action is awesome. But I'm guessing after 4 days, it's time to just quit...

Thanks Fellas

Maxx

    Welcome Maxx !
I general most of the weirder deaths you will ever experience are just flaws in the game's way to showing you where you were and how long you were being shot for.
2042 for all its demerits, has done a good job reducing the cheating compared to previous entries.

The players who are really good at the game are having such good map awareness that they can predict where to expect someone to be at around a door. Some of them are really good at listening for footsteps.
Even without that, there is a great deal of spotting from gadgets etc that will betray your location.

As some of the better infantry players seem to say. Winning in Battlefield gunfights is more about having the better positioning than the superior aiming. If you practice that, then you will have a lot less deaths.

You should also look up for informative BF2042 related creators. I would recommend TheCadWoman on youtube for fairly information dense 2042 news and tips videos.

Be sure to ask away in this forums if you need more info about something. Good Lord, we could use a break from raging at the machine and show the ropes to someone who wishes to learn.

I haven't posted on here for a while but I thought I'd check things out again tonight.

This thread is a real ray of sunshine.

Kudo's to the community members who replied to help out a new player with a question.

Nice to see that the "light" side of the BF community is still out there.

    To Maxx,

    Just play more.

Yeah....you'll get killed a lot at first.

Gradually you learn the maps and the different gadgets and skills and how they impact gameplay.

As the others have said there's a whole bunch of BF players who are a couple of years ahead of you on the curve.

It's not a steep curve, but it does take some time and it just gets better the more time you play.

Try all the different specialists and playstyles, give the vehicles a go if that's your thing (although it can be pretty tough to get them sometimes) and you're bound to find something that suits your preferred playstyle.

Then grind that puppy all the way to Tier 1 and that shiny Black/Red skin.

Have fun, this is still one of the best FPS games out there.

    Kap.

  • @Maxx0mega Welcome to the game mate, you’re not the only old dog in this hunt. Old age and treachery will overcome youth and skill 😉 I’m glad you posted so you can see that there’s a decent community of gamers out here that can help.

@Maxx0mega Welcome to the battlefield. You've got a few years on me (I'm currently 51)

Always good to see some old timers fighting the good fight. Hope to see you on the battlefield sometime soon! I'll toss you an ammo crate and heal you if I do.
  • Welcome to 2042 :D

Its not unusual to spawn die and get killed i find this more on redacted map than others.

If your super new maybe start spawning off at your home base point, or on a team mate.

Sadly possibly there maybe people using game enhancements.

    Enjoy :D
