@gDance_TR67 I don't completely. The DICE of 2021 is not the same DICE of, say, 2013 when BF4 came out, or 2014-15 when DICE LA was working their tails off to fix the BF4 launch disaster (and doing a great job of it), or 2016 when BF1 actually made a WW I shooter fun, which I didn't think they could. So many of those developers and managers from the older Battlefield glory days are now gone (many off to Embark, which is announcing their own new game today).
The name is still DICE, but the cast of characters is very, very different. While I think that pressure from above at EA is a huge part of BF2042's disaster of a launch, management at DICE itself is also responsible.
The people I *do* feel for are the ones in the trenches, the designers and developers who could see the writing on the wall about what was happening but were powerless to do anything about it, other than change jobs.
