I mean it seems great for me so far, and if there's no crossplay with the amount of players on PlayStation I'm sure it will be getting the player pool will be more than fine for me.
It's been close to 8 years since the last modern Battlefield game EIGHT YEARS, so I will be supporting this game seeing as how I personally don't buy that many full priced games a year so I don't think the price is that bad, especially from how many 100's or possibly 1k+ plus hours I'll probably get out of this game.
The only valid complaint I see is the crossplay between last gen and this gen, so I guess you have to wait for more clarification on that.
